I don't have a 24mm or 28mm SMC lens, but I do have the latest version of the Tamron 24mm and had a 28mm Tamron on loan. The 28mm seems like a nice lens, but I feel the 24mm is sharper optically. The coating on both should have been the same. This is backwards from what I would logically expect.
I will speculate and say you will like the A 35mm f2.8. I personally think Pentax's 35mm lenses have always had the edge on the 28mm lenses. That is just my personal opinion which along with $5 will get you a cup of mediocre coffee at major coffee shop chain.
