This is actually a picture of me. I was shooting some of the wild ponies on Assateague Island when a couple of the ponies took an interest in me or my camera. Being wild (feral) you are not supposed to approach them but apparently they think it's OK to approach the visitors. Another photographer there took these and sent them to me.

Exactly. I have the naked sunset shots and they are nice but, as you say, the participants add interest to the shot.

There was a woman on the same tour I did in September who bought a used SLR for the trip. She was complaining that there was a problem with the lens because it was so difficult to focus…yep, the lens hood was mounted on the camera in the stored position and she didn't realize it was removable.
