Paleo Pete - Our rainfall recently has been as bad as I have seen it in my 34 years here. Memorial Day night the Houston area had anywhere from 6" to 12" in just the one night - we had 7-1/2" and the town next to us had 11". Lake Conroe was more than a foot over full pool. That meant they had to start dumping water into the San Jacinto, making it even worse for the folks down river.
Its a far cry from four years ago when my boat sat in the shed for 9 months because of low water!

What lake? Down here in Houston, Lake Conroe is a foot over pool and they are releasing water. That means the folks downstream on the San Jacinto river are looking at water coming their way. The Brazos is way up also; and that means Oyster Creek, a 1/2 block form my house is rising since it enters the Brazos.
Water, water, everywhere...
