All 3 will have bodies and lenses, and presumably share(?) tech...I watched the announcement and it was good getting the thoughts of the different corporations.
Combined they could, with time, sneek up on the Big 3.

The winners are the consumers, has there ever been a period with as much new stuff as the last month?

Announcements are just that, we will see how all the players bring the gear into being.

I hope Ricoh can evolve their product to stay in the game.

Watch closely on whats next from them!

A reasonably good chance but i'm guessing(calculated).

Most recent rumour is, a range of Sigma L mount lenses...an EF to L mount AF adapter(they have one for $$$ony,so its not that difficult to change the mount)...AND possibly a Sigma L mount camera.

---------- Post added 09-23-18 at 07:50 AM ----------

The chances are reasonable, just a couple of days but the leaky details will be tomorrow probably.

Yes, thats a possibility?

Not long to wait and we could have a lot more details, usually everything is leaked a couple of days prior to official confirmation.

The entry level body hadnt been mentioned up until the last 12 hours.

So some details are starting to filter through.

There are 2 bodies.A high resolution(near 50mp) and a lower entry level model.

So looks like competition for $$$ony and Nikon.

Lenses rumoured to be 24-70 ...70-200 and 50mm...no details of aperture at this point.

---------- Post added 09-21-18 at 01:13 PM ----------

Yes, LARGEly accurate!

---------- Post added 09-21-18 at 01:27 PM ----------

Yes and No, time will tell.

Soonish, we could know something, thats IF RI want to divulge what they are working on?

The information at hand points to an exciting time for RI,when its official is another thing!

Great Q,Ive been searching for something and havent found anything thats definitive....My view is they are waiting to see what Panasonic are doing .The word from Panasonic sources are the announcement on 25th.

$$$ony were scheduled for something on the 20th(24mm FE) but i'll search for more soon.

$$$ept 25th is another announcement,I'll guess its Apsc body(and could be completely wrong) due to the fact that Fuji have their latest in the hands of the consumer.

Mid October is another $$$ony announcement.

I can only report and describe what ive seen. My description is accurate....Yesterdays hero(the brand was everyones favourite half a century ago).

They mostly used Kodak film back then too!

Ha ha, reality is just that....Anyone or everyone can interpret things only how their mind works.

Of course there is,but we all live in hope....In a few days there could be LOTS or nothing!

Not at all,its realistic.

Pentax dominated the display windows of camera stores.

Times change of course, market dominance(whatever that can be defined as?) is temporary.Canon is riding out the front of the wave...RI/Pentax is deep in the tube wanting to get out!

OK, back 50ish years ago when i first picked up a Pentax...it was THE brand! I wonder where all that loyalty went?

Did all those users die(we know some have).

Pentax is yesterdays hero, the fallen idol....It will still retain the diehards and they will die being a Pentax user.

Its a brand that can disappear with a Ricoh board room decision at anytime. I dont think that will happen but to survive it has to not continually shrink.

I'm optimistic that the Samsung connection will happen, then its a lottery win atmosphere...ha ha

The uninformed Wolves!...All the experts that think they can handle a camera and know its intricasies in a matter of hours.

Sony Southbound has 139000 views of his wrong carded rant(that was yesterday).I'm wondering if Canon will give him an invitation again?

---------- Post added 09-21-18 at 10:36 AM ----------

Ricoh has to make a move or risk getting left further behind.

The people asking for Apsc wont hang around forever!Espescially with what the other companies have unveiled or are about to unveil.

All roads lead to Korea!

I suppose CaNik will be taking that view too. They will definitely sell lots of their new systems.

In Panasonics case, well this is an adventure for sure.I think its better to go to war with some Allies than singularly.

6-8 weeks ago, there was No News...now its everyday(on the big island),i hope Ricoh can get in the "picture"!

Sigma has M43 mounts too,so Yes probably been brewing up behind the scenes for a while.

What a month IF all the speculation comes to fruition.

Your and Marks FAV Youtuber has revealed Info that its highly likely the Samsung sensor is in the XT3, Ricoh are supposed to have it and a new processor to partner it.I HOPE this is correct!

Pano/Leica have the association for a long while with M43 mount.

Its unclear at this stage exactly whats happening but "they" will concentrate on the glass. Its been suggested the existing Sigma mount will be abandoned.

The Panasonic FF will be released with at least 6 lenses,A prototype unveiled at PhotoKina.:)

Say Hello to RobB!
