I found that one of the pins was not returning to it's full and upright position and when put back onto the camera the pin did not make contact. The first time I solved it by tightening down the grip to the body a little more than usual.
I now carry a small tool that allows me to get the pin fully back up before attaching it to the body. Found it does not return about 50% of the time.

The one thing that has saved me on a couple of outings was the ability to store a spare memory card in the battery grip........
That alone was worth the cost of the grip in my opinion.

Nice work.
It is great when the camera and lens combinations make it fun to shoot. The 28-105mm is my walk around lens.
I have the Smayang 35mm F.14 AS UMC and found it a nice match with the K1-MII. I just need to start using it more.

You are right. Very few have picked up that the 28-105mm is a great walk around lens.
it is a lot of bang for very few bucks.

Told myself at every turn I did not need anymore equipment. Since getting the K1MII the K5, K3 and K20 are dust collectors. Lenses had more than enough to cover all my shooting ranges. it was a great exercise to try and convince myself I had more than enough and did not use all of it enough.
Then it struck, the shaking, the night sweats. LBA was back.
First purchase to try and cure the shaking was the Samyang 35mm F1.4 AS UMC . Even though it is a manual focus it would fit my inside church shots living in Rome I still have hundreds of churches to visit and shoot. Once familiar with the lens it does a really nice job.
Then I just had to cure the night sweats and there was a cure. The Pentax D FA* 50mm F1.4 SDM AW Silver Limited Edition. One click produced the cure and it arrived over night.
Now it is heavy, it is big, it is an great piece of glass. Inside shooting of some of the darker churches it is a wonder to use.
So for not planning on making any purchases I think I did OK. Now with 2022 just around the corner I once again will say no new equipment is needed.

While it appears you are suffering from CBA - Camera Buying Addiction there is a cure.
Replace it with LBA - Lens Buying Addiction.
I was up to 7 bodies, sold the K10D and K7 now only have 5.
My lens collection is up to 15 and it is an easy sell to questions as to why another lens...... simple it will work with all the cameras I own :)

Back in March 2019 when I picked up the K1 MII from Amazon's Italy site it was packaged with the SMC D-FA 100mm Lens, Macro F / 2.8 WR, Black. Total price for the package was 1999 euro which included all taxes and over night delivery.
The key is to look for the sold and shipped by Amazon at least here in Italy to avoid 3 party scam folks.

The D FA50mm F1.4 SDM AW Silver Edition on the Amazon Italian site has been all over the place for the past couple of weeks.
It would list for €1248, then drop to €890 for a couple of hours and then go back to the €1248. Now it is listed for €957.70 or in dollars $1123 (plus tax) which is close to what B&H listed it if I recalled when I looked.
Back on 6 August for a short time it was listed at €749.99. Since then it has been at €1248, €890, €979 and now €957. Only one in the Pentax family doing this price hopping on the site. The pricing all include the VAT of 22% already added to the price. It is listed as sold and shipped by Amazon so no third party involved.
Go figure.
