Yes, a couple of years is what will be need to see clarity with those new systems: native lenses available, real life shooting experiences, firmware bug fixes etc. Sony are the most advanced, too bad I don't like Sony A6/7/9 body designs and the G master lenses are good but expensive.

That's perfect. The problem with full frame systems is they aren't cheap enough to upgrade every other year. How much is obsolescence rate in video? Canon talked already about their 8K upgrade for EOS R. Whereas for still photography, unless someone has a breakthrough sensor that bring a sizable advantage over current CMOS (such as global shutter), I don't the still photography evolving as fast as video. apsc and u4/3 are fine for video, good and cheaper than full frame.

Note: I didn't imply that the zooms aren't good, I guess those new zooms from Panasonic are good. Regardless of being prime or zooms, for focal length other than wide angle it may be a challenge to take advantage of pixel shift. Pixel shift is nice to have when it's free of charge, because not all shooting conditions are suitable to take advantage of PS. Anyway, I have no doubt that those two newer camera models are excellent (still would like to see for AF), but that's almost always the case of new camera models. It always beg the question whether the added features will make the difference in real life shooting conditions. I usually put camera into two broad categories: sport and stills. For still, AF speed isn't very relevant because of the time needed to compose images for that style of shooting, faster AF isn't a valuable advantage, sensor size it, can even use manual lenses, all the rest is gadget. For sports moving shots, very significant AF speed is needed, lower resolution frees up the speed.

Video is quite different from photography in a way that it doesn't require high resolution/large sensor, the reason being that the eye is slow to react to motion pictures, any video specialist know that, movies have been made with much lower resolution and smaller sensor for very long time. When I studied video, what I learned was that eye physiology was such that high res. video transmission was not needed , that was based on exploiting limited sensitivity of the eye to dynamic images that TV was possible for many decades while using rather limited bands in the frequency spectrum.

I prefer my own intelligence to recognize the subject and focus on it, instead of having to teach the camera how to focus on an animal. No saying those cameras are no good, just saying a lot of the features are gadgets.

Wait until AF performance is understood. And for me, I do NOT see much difference in IQ between all these new FF models to justify spending for a new bodies and new lenses: from Sony to Nikon to Pentax to Panasonic, it's all the same Sony sensor tech inside. I've compared full size images from the S1 and S1R to Pentax K1, and for me it's all the same, only medium format would give me more. Then there is video, yes, but IMO the really interesting feature of video is to be able to get slow motion (my phone does it, can be useful), more interesting than 4K. BTW, the 100Mpixels and 300Mpixels claim on the S1 and S1R is a lot of empty pixels because good luck for getting 300Mpixel resolution out of a 24x36 zoom optic. With my K1 II, pixel shift with 28-105 or 24-70, I can already see diffraction limiting pixel shift resolution from f5.6 and up... so good luck to get even 100Mp resolution our of a 24-105 f4 on the S1 with the anti-alias filter, or 300Mp resolution on the S1R with the lens wide open at f4.
