Trolls create the need for forum moderators, like software viruses create the need for anti-virus software. Duality is in everything.

This kind of things are intentional these days...in the camera industry. They (Canon, Nikon etc) figured out it was good for nurturing share of mind to issue firmware fixes and publish advisory / acknowledgment information, usually they select the kind of defect / issue so that it cost nothing to fix. Camera marketing runs very long in the tooth there days... now we have teasing for 6 months before a product is announced , then 2 month wait for availability in shops , plus 1 or 2 months additional delay (seemingly unplanned LoL) on top the the official date of availability. Sony and Fuji were the first to actively correct firmware after product release, than came Nikon and now Canon understood the trick and they begin to do the same. Basically, every opportunity is good to make the temporary headline of the dpreview website.

The evidence is right here: you wouldn't think about, nor be talking about the GRIII if this wobble issues wasn't reported! Bingo, it worked.

If Ricoh are able to make money with a GRIII , they are also able to make money out of Pentax DSLR lineup simply because the price of a FF system is quite a lot higher than the price of a GRIII. If that's only a matter of resources allocation, some other Pentax products will come after GRIII got its fair share of resources for its development.

Exactly. Personal comments do not represent the whole market but a microscopic part of it. Also for 4K video, I am not sure that people asking for it actually understand what they are talking about.

It's funny how Ricoh / Pentax gets all the criticism. After the announcement of the GR, now Fuji are promoting their XF10 and Nikon show up with a new compact camera, and now Tony N. making a video explaining why a simple to use compact camera large sensor for $500 (usb-c uhs-I) is what the general public wants.

No, I'm afraid, I take photographs with the K1 or K1 II and I don't have to wait to take more photographs, unless the buffer is completely full, which never happens when shooting shorts burst only. Haven't used the GRIII yet, but given the performance UHS-I with the K1, UHS-I for the GRIII will be a non-issue for regular use.

It doesn't if you don't saturate the buffer, that can be done. It's not a sport camera, other models are better with higher frame rate and buffer depth. The K1 favor image quality not fast speed of operation. And this is a thread about the GRIII not the K1.

No I haven't.

I never had to wait 1 seconds in real shooting situation except sports, for the last two year I never had to wait for buffer clearance on the K1. Your posts sound a bit like trolling (exaggerate things for provoking comments).

You have the experience of the waiting for SD card writting with the Pentax K1 where I agree that the bigger buffer and/or faster SD card would make the K1 more enjoyable when shooting bursts/sports. However, the K1 isn't a sport oriented camera. You got fixated on the K1 slow SD card writing and carry on with this problem for the GRIII. And the GRIII is even less sport oriented and has a 24Mp sensor instead of 36Mp (less data to be transferred). And you never used the GRIII, you don't know if you have to wait or not for SD card being written, you don't know how fast is the internal 2GB memory writing. So, yes, memory card speed and buffer size are considerations no to be forgotten. But for the GRIII as a street camera, I believe that UHS-I is appropriate. You could however keep the SD card speed complain/objection for when Ricoh would release a sport oriented camera or another 45Mpixels full frame for weddings.

Sure, Ricoh know how to do 4K, it is available on the Theta and WG-6. The 24Mp apsc sensor used in the K3, KP, GR , maybe isn't able to stream 4k. The K1 sensor can't do 4K, so it doesn't matter if the image processor can do 4k or not.

Yes, it is what the spec says. No sure it is using a microSD card, perhaps a memory chip directly on the pcb without going through a SD bus driver.

Did you mean that the USB-C would provide enough power to allow faster data writing speed into a UHSII card, 4K video recording, while the USB-C port is wired to an external battery or a mobile phone?

Not needed. The GRIII connects wirelessly to a NAS, when you arrive home your photos are automatically downloaded to the NAS, you don't even have to wait.

---------- Post added 23-02-19 at 18:42 ----------

I've seen your videos on youtube, the content is nice, however, you need to upgrade to 4K because the resolution isn't that good, I can see the pixels from a distance.

---------- Post added 23-02-19 at 18:43 ----------

Also, we shoudn't forget that 4K video should be using mechanical stabilization, no like software stabilization that is implemented on the KP and K1.

I find the comments about the GRIII on DPReview to be pathetic. Almost all new camera products are now being shot in flames at the introduction, the GRIII even more so. Makes me shake my head and wonder how we have come to a point so low.

Handling of camera depends how big is the weight and size of the lens attached. Holding a compact camera without a handle is easy, holding a A6000 with a big lens involves discomfort.
