Universal praise is like winning the elections. Some artists were very talented but never known to the public, while other artists less talents became famous thanks to their marketing skills. Perception vs reality. The Sony A9 is really really impressive for AF and burst rate, the other models from Sony benefit from the brand image from the A9, but the A9 doesn't use the same chip as the other Sony cameras. The readout speed of the A9 sensor is a lot faster thanks to stacked memory, which is not the case on other models of Sony.

Nikon DSLR AF is better than Sony mirroless. It's easy to tell when holding both cameras side by side. That said, Sony has the best AF of all mirrorless systems, that's true.

IMO the camera market is dying because all new camera / lens line-up , DSLR or MILC, followed the product lineup of 5 to 10 years ago when the bulk of camera users was consumer / non-enthusiast and pro. So what happens now is that none of the camera / lens system offering from 2018 / to date matches what would be desired by enthusiasts and professional like customers. Canon with their EOS R just followed what they had done with DSLR in the previous decade, nothing really appealing for the die hard photographers who remain interested by photography in 2019. Same for Nikon, Panasonic, Sony... it is the same full frame redo over and over again. Now there is Fuji with the GFX100, but way too expensive for the sensor size it offers. What would really stimulate the enthusiasts / pro market would be to move camera lineup to medium format at $5000, and leave FF behind. In 2018, 2019, 2020, offering more FF that does the same as before will only make the camera market collapse further.
