I already asked Adam. You can change this in your settings, but Adam didn't want to change it by default. Also, I'm seeing the problem with Safari and not with Chrome.

Thanks guys!
Ah ah no I don't work work Ricoh, even though I'd love to! Sorry for your wallet, but I'm sure you won't regret it :) .
The only cons when compared to the 300 is the light transmission which is a little bit less good, making you loose something like a half stop. That's the price to pay for aberrations free photos with a zoom, I guess. But you have much more reach, you can zoom, AF is great (even though I find the DA*300 AF perfectly fine), and you have a focus limiter.
IQ-wise, I did several tests comparing the D-FA at 270mm (max focal length for the f/4.5 aperture) vs the DA* and even when looking à 100% I'm not able to say which lens took which shot. At 310 I found the DA* a little bit better, but the D-FA is still perfectly fine. In real world use, I don't pay attention to the focal length, and I'm always satisfied.
I keep the DA* for its low weight and size, but for now I always took the D-FA no matter the conditions ^^.
Again if you want to play with a few RAWs just tell me, I can upload some.
On the K3, heavy crop (60%):

I have both. I used the 300 for several year before buying the 150-450, I now it well and I love it.
Yet it stayed in the bag since I bought the 150-450 :)
A few low light samples:
1/60sec - f/6.3 - ISO6400 - 450mm
1/30sec - f/4.5 - ISO3200 - 220mm
1/13sec - f/6.3 - ISO1600 - 360mm
Then, when you do have the light...
1/250sec - f/7.1 - ISO1600 - 450mm
1/80sec - f/7.1 - ISO800 - 360mm
1/250sec - f/7.1 - ISO1600 - 450mm
1/1000sec - f/7.1 - ISO800 - 450mm
If you want to play with some RAWs, I can upload a few. The rainbow lorikeet shot was extremely underexposed, it's a nice shadow recovery example.
You can see a lot more birds pictures with the K1 & 150-450 in this gallery .
Sorry for your wallet, but that lens deserves it :) .

What are you doing taking photos with that old 2016-era lens?? Don't you have a brand new D-FA* 50 f/1.4 to play with?
:D

Please don't. Most of your pictures are stunning, none made me wince, nor did I find any of them to be sleazy!
I'm totally jealous!! But on the other end I would have been so upset not to have my best lens for the occasion
Best I can find in my backyard is my neighbours' cats. Maybe a fox, in the middle of the night...

Ah ah that's the weather we've had most of the time (+ rain) since we're back to France, so depressing!!
Fortunately I still have some photos to process to get some sun back...

Thanks! I don't do a lot of night photography, and I didn't at Windorah unfortunately.
I did at Rainbow Beach though, excellent spot as well (I think I already posted that picture, if so sorry for the double post!):
You'll notice that the upper left corner is pretty bad with my FA* 24mm :/

If you find it you can also give the FA*24 f/2 a try. Once stopped down to at least f/5.6 it's sharp and give nice results... |
