I do a lot of indoor sports photography, mainly water polo and martial arts. Because of bad lighting and lack of money I started to use fast manual primes.
What I noticed was that I got a lot more keepers with my manual lenses. Knowing the sports help me anticipate what is going to happen and the manual lenses had me plan the shots better. The last session I took around 100 photos with a keeper rate of over 50%. These are photos that are used by the clubs for their websites and for printing.
