This thread has become one of the funniest in PF history :D
Sometime past in a forum where you can freely change username, I played a 1st of April prank where I and an old friend switched usernames, signature, and avatar. drove lots of people crazy.

In every way possible this will be the best K-mount camera ever made, and and we the users wage a small civil war over the logo. I do prefer that it says pentax, but when the time comes when I can afford to buy it for myself, I won't refuse to buy it just because it says Ricoh. I say "much ado about nothing" as I'm indifferent the logo. I'm really happy that a great K-mount camera is being made, period.
Up until this point I have never seen a multiple page discussion on an issue that doesnt affect usability whatsoever in this forum before, that's what kind of baffles me about this whole thing. I think this thread in itself is bad for Ricoh, making Ricoh / Pentax fans look really petty. And of course for some reason I'm making it worse with this post.
As a side note, my dream is to have a "fisher price" camera that can switch sensors, I want to choose between D800, 5D classic, and M9, and want it to take lenses from all mounts (FA 31, Canon 50/1.2, Nikon 70-200), yum :D
I have always been rather brand indifferent, but I guess having partly switched made me totally indifferent. I like Pentax because of what the cameras and lenses give me, not simply because it's Pentax.

Pages and pages of much ado about nothing.... it's a stamp, not the shutter button. get the camera and enjoy it. Who cares what your camera says as long as it takes good pictures AND has a K mount? I'll buy a "fisher price" stamped camera if it takes good pictures and is enjoyable to use.
I'm glad Canon didnt buy pentax several years ago. Who knows what this forum would say if the back of their K-mount cams says "Canon"
