You're capturing some great shots with that lens Greg.
I never warmed up to it on my crop cameras and so haven't given it a fair shot on K1 either. Yet.
I really should.

IMO you're underselling yourself. With the number of companies that need product shots you'e missing an opportunity. You really should begin a plan for monetizing it starting with some self-promotion on social sites. You're already most of the way there.

That's a great shot, excellent depth and I like very much how you handled the color. ---------- Post added 10-23-19 at 09:36 PM ---------- You do consistently good product shots. I hope it's a major focus of your business 'cause you're excellent at it

The second shot in that series stands out for me. Nice set.

FWIW today I'll be receiving a K1 to use for the next week. I already have a good complement of FF-ready lenses to use for one in-studio portrait shoot and one beach-side scheduled in the next few days. I'll see if a K1 is meant for me.

You're doing so well with this lens I'm surprised you have it for sale.
Nice shots!

Thanks Bruce, and I'm sure you're right. Literally received another camera this evening, a KP to use alongside the K70 I already have for photoshoots. I prefer to carry two cameras rather than slow down to swap lenses.
So far I've not had any burning desire to go full-frame, pretty pleased with what I'm capturing on crop. Then again I'm selling off some extra gear I don't use, probably totals close to the price of a good used K1. Maybe I'll rent one in the next month or so before buying another camera so soon after this one.
Edit: BTW my reasoning on the 31 and 77 was pairing those with my DA*55 as a portrait set. The 31 meant for close quarters and the other two generally being the ones mounted to each of two cameras.

Oh, and that FA31 I mentioned? Yeah that one too is now a fixture in my bag. This was from last weekend. Two great weekend shoots in a row, two of the three Amigos.

Up until the past month I've avoided even considering the "three Amigos" thinking they're really for those full-frame K-1 owners and all I have are entry level K-S2's and K-70. I've been seriously wrong. First came the FA77 about two weeks ago because I found a great deal and thought I'd try it then sell it, followed by the FA31 a couple days later and also only because it was a too-good to pass up deal. A great deal actually, and at least I could say I used to have them. Well, change of plans. With a lowly $300 camera and FA77 this past weekend. There's at least another dozen shots using that combo from Saturday equally impressive IMHO. Should'a gone this route months ago.

I was reminded about the old pickup line I first heard said to a young girl in a bar years ago. . .
"You look like you have some Irish (or whatever) in you? No? Do you want some?"

Nah, I think it might have a little Irish in it. Definitely no California IMHO.

It's occurred to me that I've not really given my Revuenon 50 1.4 a fair workout with the KS2. I used it a few times early on with the K50, and back then I knew even less than I do now about what I was looking at so my judgment was impaired ;) .
Before spending money perhaps needlessly I'll give that lens a few rounds this weekend.

Thanks for the advice. My interests mostly revolve around outdoors both land and water. Macro, nature, landscape... Unusual lighting or stark contrasts always grab my attention even tho the subject itself may be relatively mundane. I seldom do much with portrait other than my own friends and family.
I've got the entire range pretty well covered, and it's not like my other lenses aren't really well thought, but as probably most here gradually discovered (I was a late bloomer) the glass makes a big difference. I have a DA 35 that's close to the 43. Gets great reviews and everyone loves 'em it seems, but I've just not warmed up to the look I get from it. Images are sharp, very nice colors and contrast. My DA50 1.8? Yup it's nice too. Great lens, highly regarded, right?
... but there's just "that something" missing when I compare to shots with the D FA100 for instance. There's always at least one from a series with it that puts a smile on my face. The DA*200 will more often than not register that same smile when I review a mornings shots. There's even been a couple from the Sigma 17-50 that have amazed, but not as regularly. Maybe I'm getting too particular since my wife and daughter love most of my keepers.
Long story short I'm looking for another one of those smile-on-my-face lenses more in the 40-85 range. Perhaps someone here knows what I'm talking about. It's really hard to put it into words I guess.

I've been looking at the 77, actually pulling the trigger on a new one for less than $680 before cancelling it a few minutes later to be certain that's the lens I really want. This past weekend I carried the D FA100 with me and TBH there were a number of times I would have preferred I didn't need to be quite so far from the action. I don't know if the 77 would put me there or not, and I'm suspecting "not". I'm now leaning more towards the FA43. I don't have a lot of interest in doing typical portraiture work (ala Le Rolls but I love the subject matter!) which seems to be the plus point for the 77 over the 43, am I correct?
In any event I'm really trying to up the quality of my glass while reducing the quantity. There's at least 3-5 more lenses deserving of a better home that I'll be selling, and I've already parted ways with a few others.
Does love 'em and leave 'em make me a "player" :)

Rondec, that's an amazing picture. Excellent contrast and composure, great color. I feel unworthy looking at it. . .
