Sorry kenyee, you can't use them for the NiZn. The NiZn batteries because of their different chemistry have a completely different charging protocol. Thus they need their own style of charger.

Nope haven't had any problems with my 9009. However, the reason I'm using the LaCrosse is that I went thru 3 Maha MH-C9000. One was even hand picked and tested by one of their California office technical folks. The problem with all of them was that you could charge AAA batteries just fine but on occasion when removing them from the charger something failed and you could never charge in one or two of the slots. I went thru multiple versions of firmware amongst the three units. After the third try I gave up and went with the LaCrosse. So far it's all good ~10 months.
