With that light, it might be interesting to just try and capture the shadows.

Try shooting from behind the goal (but remember, they're shooting, too. ;))

First of all, thumbs up for lacrosse! Also, too, nice work!
I haven't shot any sports for over a year now and kind of miss it the challenges. The first rule is you never have to apologize for heavy crops, massive noise reduction or blown background highlights. .

Perhaps. I kind of had it in my mind it was on the Island r/t Kowloon side but it's fairly likely I could have been mistaken about that at the time--and much more so in recollection.;) The walkway was a nice alternative to street-level shooting.

Not every day I get to go to an NCAA Division 1 Championship game practically in my backyard with a "home team" to root for.
I didn't do very well as far as the photography is concerned BUT the home team did just fine. :D |

Back in my day, crosschecking was illegal--I was called for it (wrongfully, of course) once or twice--but I don't think I've seen it called in this century.

Well, the rule book prohibits hitting other players with the stick but you can hit his (or her) stick. Knocking the other player into tomorrow with a body block, however, is perfectly legal--indeed encouraged.

That's part of the fun. If--as I suspect--you tend to post photos of 'your' team making good plays, it helps build confidence. I've even had coaches ask to see the full shoot, looking for things that need correcting.

Eeeeew!
Stuck in a poorly vented locker in a basement room and never dried out between August and November. I remember--but not fondly

There's this stretch of beach in Quintana Roo, Mexico I love to walk with a long lens, shooting birds & other wildlife. This year the end near the parking lot was alive with kite surfers. I took a bunch of shots with the K-3, 1.4x TC and DA*300/4. The "airborne" shot isn't good at all but it just had to be included in the sequence. |

Don't get me wrong--it's not anything I'd be inclined to do even if I were young & fit but it's great to enjoy the view from here. ;)

That last one is interesting: not being a golfer, I can't tell whether that shot will get him out of the trap so there's an element of suspense.

Lacrosse season is underway! At my daughter's request, I went to one of her old high school team's games. It turned out to be a great game and they won 9-8 in OT. :D |
