Does 5.4 handle what Pentax calls "Dynamic Pixel Shift" (aka handheld pixel shift) images? I've run one through, but I don't know RT well enough to know if it's just processing one frame upon encountering these DNGs (BTW, yes, I know all about the arguments about whether this is true PS, etc, but hey, that's what Pentax calls it. In the camera itself it's in the pixel shift menu as one of four options, and is the one with SR "on").
I would guess that RT just does the usual PS thing on it (turn on the motion mask and it's like ALL green). I've read that DCU 5.8 would use parameters from the camera's orientation system to do a better stacking, but the results looked better in RT to my eye, and frankly DCU is so awful I dunno how to make anything good come out of it. It has no options specific to PS when you load a dynamic PS image that I could find.
Oh, and BTW: is there a way to pull out the four frames in RT? I used dcrawps to do that on occasion, but no longer have it installed.
