Excellent light on those waves. I also really like the leading line of the rocks that creates a sense of 3D-like depth in this photograph.

When I get a new lens, I run it through standard test shots inside and outside of my home. I just finished adapting this latest lens, and it's dark outside so I took a couple of test shots in my kitchen. Handheld, jpg, 800 ISO, wide open.

Before buying this lens I read from a couple of users that this old lens was one of their favorite bokeh lenses. Well, being a bokeholic I just had to buy one.

Well, based on this test shot, I'm really liking what I'm seeing - realistic colors, 3D pop, acceptable sharpness, and super creamy bokeh.

The lens is the Nikkor Q Auto 200mm f/4 non-Ai lens (second version). You are not going to believe this, but I paid only $35 for this like new copy on Ebay!!!

I've adapted over 100 lenses in my lens shop. This one was actually quite challenging and took me a couple of hours to do. As far as I know, I'm the only person shooting this lens on a full frame Pentax K-1 camera.

This old Nikkor vintage 1970's, is extremely well built and has only 4 elements in 4 groups. Talk about a simple / basic optical design - only the MOG Trioplan has fewer elements (3).

Simple, high quality, cheap - what's not to like?

Olympus Zuiko 50/1.2 adapted lens on my K-1

Today I Leitax adapted 3 lenses to Pentax K mount ( Leica R 135/2.8 ; Nikkor 135mm/2.8 AIS ; and Olympus Zuiko 50/1.2 ). Below is one of the test photos I took with the Oly on my K-1. This minty lens only cost me about $300. I like its' razor thin DOF wide open. Also, its' bokeh is very creamy. Here's the Leitax instructions for adapting it to K mount if anyone's interested.

The Oly 50/1.2 lens is a tiny/lightweight lens. Good colors, a little vignetting wide open, significant green fringing wide open, and it has below average contrast wide open. It's what I'd call medium sharp - while sharper than most vintage lenses its' no where near as sharp as better modern lenses (e.g. Pentax DFA 50/1.4). But if you like thin DOF and creamy bokeh, it just might be worth putting up with its' shortcomings to get the nice bokeh.

Here's a couple of shots I took today of a sunflower in my garden. My lovely wife is that "white blob" in the background.

The first was taken at f/1.4, the second at f/2.4. Which do you prefer and why?

Here's a photo that I took today in my backyard garden. Nothing special, just a pot of impatients.

Used my K1 with adapted Zeiss ZF Makro Planar 100mm f/2. Shot it wide open of course. I really like the bokeh that this lens makes.

Been snowing a lot here in northern Wisconsin USA lately.

Took this photo today about 3 blocks from my home.

Taken with Leica 80/1.4 Summilux on my K1. I really like the way my Leitax adapted Leica R lenses render blues and reds.

Cross posted in Leica thread...
