No, regardless of shutter speed, it does not.

There is too much of a delay between the individual frames.

If there is absolutely no motion in the scene (you indicate that this is the case for you) then LR should be fine.

Replacing the regular demosaicking process with superimposing the colour contributions from four PS frames is not that hard to get right. Hence even Adobe with their limited investment into Pentax probably got that right. It's just when one needs to be clever about treating motion artefacts that DCU5 or RawTherapee can really shine. Also, in particular RawTherapee seems to have some tricks up its sleeves. For instance being able to compensate for slight exposure changes between the frames (e.g., caused by using speedlights) could be extremely useful.

P.S.: Some fantastic photography here, guys!

Also proof that there is no lack of suitable lenses for the K-1!

Unless you are importing a JPG into C1 (Capture One), or pre-process the RAW file, you won't get the benefits of PS (Pixel Shift).

C1 is great in many ways, but it only processes one out of the four PS frames.

There shouldn't be too much of a difference between a 16-bit TIFF file and a special PixelShift RAW file (in which RGB information is present for each pixel).

The TIFF file has white-balancing, gamma encoding, and a tone curve baked in, but with 16-bit information there should be a lot of leeway to make corresponding changes after the fact.

Having said that, it would be nice to be able to store PixelShift images using the "Linear DNG" format, leaving all major "developing" decisions for later.

Are you sure?

Remember that part of the size advantage of regular RAW files comes from the fact that they only store either red, green, or blue at each pixel position, instead of full RGB information.
