I guess it is time to delete my photos, throw away my prints, sell my glass and start over. I thought I had some good stuff but if it's not over 60mp it must have been trash.🤔

Agree with what you say but I think if I had a k70 or kp I would only use it as back up. I do like the flippy screens ability to be scene from virtually every angle. But the 24mb 14bit seems better.
The ks2 meets all my needs except extreme low light. I was holding out for the k50 replacement when it came out. If I knew the k70 would follow so soon I would have thought hard about waiting longer.

As a ks2 user I am curious as to what you find attractive about it given all your other cameras. I would think it would always fall behind one of the other cameras in some area.
Of course you have a k1 and probably like the k1ii which is the second worst camera of 2018!😀

Sadly they don't. Something about a bench setup not worth the interest for pentax.
I remember at one point they said they would test Pentax if someone will donate the money for equipment.
I do like ephotozine. Unfortunately their tests are over a long period so some are on k5, k5ii, k3, k1 so very hard to compare from 16mb with aa filter to 36mb new sensor. But great for general ideas which is what matters most.

Lenses don't change that much for a reason.

If I were a purist I would be pissed that I have to use a digital sensor and no choice to use film. That should have been DPR's gripe on every camera since they started but being they are about Digital they already concede they have never been purist even when the photography community was overwhelming against digital for some years longer.

The funny thing to me is I think any difference seems to be within sampling error. Sure it matters to a purest but when you add in real world focus, light, technique, timing, composition, etc it is about a 0.00002% at best. I mean look at the iOS 100 pictures here and tell me you can't count more dust specs on one over the other.

Being they "couldn't " test astro, star eater on steroids was enough to confirm 2nd worst camera of the year. Top notch reason in my view. 😀

So it's an untouched k1ii vs a worked k1. Why not work them both to get the best you can and compare? Also time taken should be compared. There are many metrics. If you took an unworked k1 vs a worked one the conclusion is well duh. Against the k1ii the conclusion is that is the k1ii is
Impressive for unworked.

We usually get the 60" meaning 6' thing here. I think I would have heard about some place getting snowed in with 60 feet. Thats deep as a 6 story building! :)

I know people who still have VHS too. I actually saw a guy with an old glass slide camera this summer. Not too many people will want big lenses when the metalenses are small, light and supposed to be super sharp with no distortion or ca., even electronic zoom lenses are wafer thin, as the cells are change to focus. I think even the term focal length will be obsolete but it's beyond me how exactly that works.

It was only last December that metalenses became a real possibility. There's a chance that in 5 years time all current lenses will go the way of VHS tapes.

High iso and f4 is way better than a $10,000 f0.95 lens that let's me photograph a clean eyelash surrounded in blur. Unless that's what you want. We can always front focus by a couple meters. The only major difference is even the eyelash is bokeh.🤕

If you exclude the 17 da primes, the 22 da zooms, the 4 dfa primes and 5 zooms and the xs and kit lenses the Pentax hasn't made any lenses. :) come to think about it, if you exclude all lenses designed after 2000 no company has had a lens since 2000.

Now I wonder about Wheaties. They have had athletes pictures on the box since 1934. Did they ever use a picture taken with a pentax? I could see some being taken with a 6x7.
