For what it's worth, I trusted the Pentax Hack site's list of cameras. Here are the ones for which they provide instructions for debug mode:

OK, thought I'd chime back in to share my success. No, not with a K5II...
Funny thing is that I first noticed this thread the same afternoon that I sold my old K20. Ugh. So, with only my new K5II (I like!), I was frustrated with the inability to fix my beloved, but ailing, 50-135. Well, I found a broken K2000 for sale, got it cheap, and was able to use it to make this hack work. Now 50-135 AF works again on the K5II. Yea! Thanks for sharing this neat trick.

I'm hoping there is a way to do this with the K5 II. I don't have access to any older models :-( Anyone get it to work??
