havn't been on here for ages !, so quick update, moved from wellington down to chch (mainly for the work) 18 mths ago and been loving it since, still into the HDR stuff and chch is so full of it :), here's a couple pf examples
and a sunset one at sumner beach

Ok sorry to throw you on a different road....... BUT !... i just got in my hot little hands !.. 3. yes thats threeeeeeeeee.. nd filters..lol. a 2,4,8, 2 x filter holders, hood, 58,67,77 mm rings all for $100 at my door, Annnndddddddddddddd ! i have NO IDEA HOW TO USE THE BLOODY THINGS !. haha so on holiday from monday (20th) till the next wed (30th). so you can guess what i'll be up to huh :)....... ok back to the original topic now.... i've had my 3 minute excitement :D

guys havn't actually decided on where i was going on the road trip... any sugestions?.. was only planing on doing a couple days somewhere, nothing fancy etc... date i was looking at will be 20th - 30th of june as i've pretty much told work i'm having a holiday or someone's gonna get a hurt ! :D. so i'm very much open to ideas !. also found something interesting from alibaba.com with pentax gear... as a regestered member for there due to the fact i used to import a lot of rc gear etc.. i decided to check out pentax lenses. came across this :D

hopefully you'll see it.... now freaks you out when you see that.... so i did a bit more investigating.. found the owner of that little shop has a much bigger website....... so i found it and registered with that as well to see what prices he was selling them for in reality !
sort of a big difference from 30 odd notes to over 700 notes huh?.... so being the cheeky little bugger i am..... i emailed him and asked him in a really nice manner that i usually have... can i have it for 30.00 notes since it's advertised for 30 :D

man ! I been away from here far to long. missed out on all the excitement !. *DARN* !:D.after working like mad ( end of the financial year etc) even managed to squeeze in a couple of trips to hawkes bay, awesome sunrise's after i actually fell out of bed early in the morning ! And going up to waikawa beach hopefully in the weekend to grab some more ! even if the weather is cloudy and crap i'm still going up ! :D

PS: i think the forum needs to incorporate Maori words into it's dictionary, coz i got these funny little red lines under the Maori place names. lol
anyways here's a shot of one of the morning sunrise's in the bay. cup of coffee in my hand and sitting on the quad at 6.30 am. woke the dogs up, the neighbours and anyone else that didn't want to wake up that early.. god i'm a rebel with a cause... photography cause that is :P
tried the HDR effect on the sunrise's as well but they turned out like a really bad hair day in wellington so i elected to throw them into the *reject folder* and that's where they stay till i decide what to do with them

Lol no i used to live at apiti many years ago.... used to work a farm there with a uncle. sadly he passed away and my aunty brought a house in fielding. used to be the first farm on the left on table flat road. have no idea who owns it now though

Arpe... photomatix pro 3.0 for the HDR stuff.... photoshop cs and lightroom 2 for everything else. if you want photomatix then give me a yell and i can send ya cd etc

and I was actually quite amazed at the quality of the finished result...... but me being as fussy as i am... i really needed some second opinions as you do.. so took them around to a few mates place's and showed them.... thumbs up for the both of them. so quite pleased with the end results

i think they are half price starting from 8.00 am tomorrow (sunday morn), So i went out and tried some HDR shots today over the wairapapa and locally here. So i'm gonna try a couple of big-guns to see how they come out at... at around 8 bucks for a 12x18 i would love to see how the quality turns out at.... will let you know how they come out etc

the funny thing is though... i also deliver to wellington photographic supply as well. and they use the exact same paper in both stores. so not sure how each store's process works, maybe it's in the machine.lol

hey guys.... this is for the welly lads as not sure if this offer is country wide... BUT harvey norman in town is having a real serious photo's printing discount on sunday. (15th ). i delivered their film there today so had a chin wag about it to the guy..... from 7.00 - about 8.30ish prints from the smallest are about 18 cents or something..... 8 x 10's are half price from 5 bucks.... could be a nice way to get a bulk buy of a few pics and flick em off to friends, mates etc.. i know thats what i'm going to do..lol

hey guys, just been back from the A1 GP in taupo and have the rest of the week off so after 1800 + pics i got a job ahead of me..lol
Also got a new toy the day before i left which was a 28-300 sigma lens so it got thrashed for the entire weekend while i was away
cons
a little on the heavy side
a little slow on most action shots
Pros:
Price: 120 notes off trademe
excellent walk around lens that can stay attached all the time
came with polarizer filter
some pics
a quick panning shot of black beauty
muscle car racing... this was a super nice e49 charger
Pit Lane got real busy at times
HQ power. did this every time on this corner
and of course the red checker fly guys :)
Will sort through some more in the next few days and post them up
