The last bit about the sunlight cycle is interesting because I grew up near the arctic circle. I guess that might royally mess up your clock. I do feel that that's also a matter of adapting. After one year cycle you're accustomed to the new day/night cycle.

I guess I have to be more lenient with my kids terrible ability to get up in the morning if it's all genes... I despair (from my own position in bed of course) considering they aren't even teens yet.

I very much doubt that its innate. However people certainly have different cycles. The reason I doubt it is because I know that I have adopted different sleeping patterns, and become accustomed to them, due to circumstances. Saying that without outside constraints I stay up longer and longer each night. As a student I was also most productive after 21 or so. At a previous job I skipped two nights sleep once. At the end of day three I was not very productive but met the deadline.

I don't think vibrant will give you a realistic colour palette with any camera.

I can also appreciate vintage glass. Cinematographers however have largely lost the plot. Far to many films have excessively graded and colour coordinated looks. Its really a pet peeve of mine.

Orange teal should be outlawed.

I'm mostly a FF user now but my failure to figure out the DA15 is an itch I can't get rid of. I have some good shots but almost always the edges are smeared so much it's noticeable at web sizes. The fact that things occasionally fall into place but I can't reliably repeat it is annoying.

Do you shoot with SR on? I've heard some suggest that ibis can't handle wide angles resulting in smeared edges.

Did you use a film simulation of some sort in your postprocessing?

That's great. The shape of the pinnacles echoing the trees but as sandy ghostlike versions.

She looks tiny due to the large leaves. You've managed to photograph a pixie!

To further understand what's going on with DPS it's interesting to look at the dpr studio scene with the following settings
Image comparison: Digital Photography Review

As expected from the Pentax explanation the odd "Tripod PS (Handheld Mode)" produces worse looking images than "Handheld PS (Handheld Mode). Look at the womans lapel and its clear that Handheld mode benefits from the camera moving. Another detail is that handheld mode picks up the horisontal lines in her headscarf whereas the tripod handheld indicates vertical eching (probably moire) I find it strange that dpreview did this Tripod ps handheld mode shot but it helps in understandeing that it indeed works as described.

This also suggests that it might be "true" pixelshift. The pixel level motion artefacts also suggest that the four shots are merged without being demosaiced.

The above is all amateur analysis and speculation.

SOOC photos only set the exif rotate tag without rotating the actual content as this saves cpu/battery. Only Safari on Mac I believe rotate images according to exif by default. You can usually fix it by rotating in software, saving, and uploading again. Other browsers have decided not to activate this feature as it would break a lot of existing sites where people have used the wrong exif tag but it has been working for years because the browsers lacked the feature.

^My guess at whats going on.

The resolution is absolutely incredible across the frame. No fuzzy stuff whatsoever!

Can't se any mustache either. This is the lens with mustache distortion right? Fixed with lens profile?

This is getting OT but perspective distortion is a property of distance to subject not FL of lens. So standing in the same spot and changing both sensor and lens for equivalent field if view should give identical perspective.

When the field of view is identical the perspective and compression is identical?

Switching lens/sensor combo for the same field view results in identical perspective.

Hang on this is a misunderstanding right? Perspective and compression should be identical?
