I was shocked at how well it turned out, given the situation.
Summary of the shooting modes for each image: - TV
- AV
- M
#1 should be obvious with that focal length... I'll edit and add the modes into the first two posts...:o
Cheers,
Marc

None of these images are cropped.
Black Vulture - took this during a sunny, very windy day, so he had to keep lifting his wings up to remain perched. Taken at F/6.3, 1/2500 sec., ISO 500, EV -0.3, TV Mode, Sigma 500/4.5 + Sigma 1.4x APO TC for a total of 700mm. Then factor in the SUV + Krik Fat Bean Bag + window ledge to really provide a stable platform for that focal length... yikes...
I shot at this EV value due to the compromise I had to find between the very light/almost white legs, and the obviously very black rest of the bird! Normally you want to overexpose darker or black subjects, so details are not lost.
"Deer at Dusk" was taken from the SUV of all things = it stayed put for at least 3 shots. Taken at F/7.1, 1/1000 sec., ISO 800, EV -0.3, AV mode. This was another "Kirk Bean Bag Special":
"Foraging Javelina" A little larger size with the K20D + FA* 300/2.8 - taken at F/5.6, 1/640 sec., ISO 800, EV -0.7, M mode:
I hope you enjoy these images!
Cheers,
Marc
