The LX100 is the one I was thinking of, but I've a feeling it wasn't the first.

I'd rather keep more of what I might use than large slices either side.

I crop 99% of my images. The 3:2 ratio is almost never perfect for my subjects, and no matter how careful I am there's often just a few pixels at the edges that distract.

Personally, I hope Panasonic's adjustable ratio catches on more widely. I'd love to be able to frame in 1:1 straight off the bat whilst maintaining 'equivalent focal length'.
