A subject you like. Breakfast! There is a pancake house close to the zoo and TCU called Ol' South Pancake House. Every visit to Fort Worth has to include breakfast there. Good prices but busy.
1500 South University Drive.

Enjoy.

And for the less artistic inclined, there is the World Famous Ft Worth Stock Yards. So happens to share its water and sewage systems with your hospital. You were commenting on the bad taste and smell of the nebulizer in your breathing machine. You can make the connection!

Get well quickly.

I can see it now. This pretty young physical therapist comes and asks if he is ready for breath therapy. Rupert with smile says yes Ma'am. She says that this is the hardest breath workout and the doctor highly recommended it. Please get in the wheelchair we have to go to the first floor. Poor Rupert is exhausted by the time they went down the long dark hallway. He noticed that the rooms were laboratories. They entered the one at the end. It was even darker inside but Rupert was was going to perform the exercise as the PT requested. She handed him a tube and said to breathe in and out. Rupert worked hard at it. Pretty soon he felt dizzy as he heard the drone and whirl of the mighty bagpipes being propelled with his own lungs. What a magnificent sound he thought. No wonder Bert loves them.
The morale to this story has nothing to do with bagpipes but that it is time to get well Rupert we have enough gloom and doom.

Here's to you and your bagpipe lessons.

I think that the TCCA and the FFA have rules about a drone sounding like.

In truth that was very appropriate.

I was using an inhaler for a while when my pharmacy informed me it had problems getting it. Cost was $150 a month. This is a mail system so I asked what it would cost and was told $7200 for 3 months with Medicare not paying any part. Asked locally and was told $3200 a month and no Medicare help. Holler at doctor who had told both that they should change script to another inhaler but neither one carries what he recommends so they gave big numbers again I'm passed the donut hole so no Medicare.
Finally doctor contacted mail system and requested different brand of same same med he recommended and now get it for $63 for 3 months. In investigating I find that the original was stopped in production because it had CFCs in it. They were trying to kill me and take my savings. There are one or two puffs left in last high inhaler. Hoping can sell those to someone for a bundle.

I just want to breathe. As the others have mentioned, your day goes to h.. L when you can't breathe.

That $7200 puffer left a terrible taste that was drinking a ton of ice water which increased the number of times I had to p.. All this led me to be short of breath.

At least my thinker is still working.

I made point of financial side because emotionally she won't be mature for a few years after school. I figure that 25 years old is when we start putting things together. I noticed how my daughter's view of me changed about then. Before that I was a human credit card. When she stopped groaning at all of my terrible puns it was totally different discussing adult matters. So many things I tried to get across to her came back from her. I'm afraid my father and I never went through that.
Enjoy the voyage with her.

Education gets a grace period as it increases potential of financial independence. It sounds kind of cold talking about this topic but it is one of best gifts you can give her. Fathers and daughters have a special bond not much discussed. As I've told mine, I changed yours when you were a baby you get to change mine when I'm old. "Oh dad" is the response.

Enjoy and grandkids are a ball.

Mark,

Really special time for both of you. Now you have to figure out how to get her off of your payroll and being independent financially. It'll never happen as I've found. Daughter hands it off to the grandkids real quickly. I'm sure she was independent otherwise when she turned 13 or so. What a great experience having an adult daughter is.
You did something right!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.

Last major infrastructure changes by Houston were in 1939 and sometime in 1960. Have lived in area since 1970 and same places flood over and over and get recycled into something else with more concrete and pavement. About then retention ponds were the deal but have never handled the rain and drainage coming for outside. My last home in Houston was at 70' and streets flooded a few times while there. Area I live now is 220' but about 40 miles from old and straight north and on a high. Local airport weather equipment is 35' or so lower.

Houston survives because of an attitude to keep going. Might not be Silicon Valley but NASA, Energy company and medical research really drive that attitude. As I told my native Texan daughter, Texans (not football team) have an attitude. JJ Watt is a transplant but he shows it. Afraid that I'm retired and a transplant but here by choice. I do hate the weather though but like the people.

Won't work in Houston as it might for Galveston. Houston has pockets of low level but not much with coastal flooding.

I hadn't heard anyone mention Carry On in so long. I first think of the daffodil in Carry On Nurse ending. Have to get dvds out again for some needed humor around here.

I think Bert should tell us the history of bagpipes. Not the one associated with royalty and battles but the true one about that thing being a wine bag with multiple straws for the headaches it has caused. The bag was originally for gathering grapes and the like but Bert's GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGfather forgot to empty it so being inventive like his Neanderthal breathern decided to clean it. It was too liquid so he and the other guys used reeds to suck it clean. His son Bertwerp decided it would be fun if he blew into it while the others sucked and the bagpipe was born! I've heard that the famous pipers have a two compartment version allowing for air and also some libation to keep their bare legs warm.

Not a Royal amongst the group.

BTW Happy Birthday to Racer X.

I agree she well equipped. All she needs one more finger to cover all of the holes and and five corks to plug the rest of that darned thing and that would be perfect - quiet!

I have seen so few female pipers and won't comment on how it is hard to them from the guys. Maybe my eyes being busy would obstruct the scratching sound.

Federal government flood insurance is so inexpensive. Might cost a couple of cartons of cigarettes or case or two of hard booze for year of insurance. Better yet get the insurance and buy property above the 100 year flood plane. By law it offered at sale of property in the US.

This hurricane was very different from others here. It has dumped a ton of rain which is normal but it has been over a long duration so significant drainage has happened in most areas. Hardest hit have insufficient drainage for afternoon rain.

Rain has really slowed just 30 miles north of Houston, it has been continuous since Harvey went ashore the first time. Seems like it lasted 6 weeks or so. Daughter and her in-laws suffered no major damage and they are spread across Houston area. Only thing worse than constant rain would be continuous bagpipes or scratching one's nails on a chalk board. Bagpipes would be worst.
Politicians will be out tomorrow to build some impossible and expensive dam. Only their companies have technology.

Houston will be alright as it has before. Mind if the price of gasoline goes up a bit?
