Having spent 10 years as an IT Project Manager, I know all too well that applying an update 'because it's there' is a fool's errand.

If you are experiencing a bug that is fixed by the update, or you require a feature that is added, it might be worth the effort and risk. If not, it is at best a pointless waste of time, at worst could break something that was previously working.
