Yeah, people are different I do like the way portraits are rendered by Fuji. This oily pattern and negative clarity is very appealing for candid shots for my taste, but for reportage...All those Nx1 and Xt2 images are not edited eg straight up so to speak...Claibrated monitor?
Mine has been calibrated recently also usually use 3 sources eg PC monitor, surface monitor and sRGB profiled phone screen. Anyway all match. I see high saturation on Nx1 jpg representation (vibrance is high as well ). Cause I use raw files for an actual processing it is no big deal really raw is pretty clean and easy to operate. Just attached jpg from Nx1 to show how microcontrast represented as well as color tinting eg green on faces (eg not on Nx1). K1 has even better jpg image btw (K3 II is a little cold but again no green cast). Most importantly there is no cast so to speak in raw file and not on the prints unlike Xt2 image. Green (chin area) is present in raw as well (jpg I could care less honestly) and have to be dealt with. Again maybe im way to harsh on it, but neither Pentax nor Samsung does that. Or perhaps I'm more Bayer sensor kinda guy for reportage events ? DK. Just for me as is image from Fuji for those type events is not acceptable. Has to be corrected. (Using precious time)

Ooh this green cast on Fuji Xt2 on every shot from the session (multiple ones) so it is not just one example. 18-55 is excellent lense I use it for travel pics.

Yep. For me Fuji skin color is zombie like in this situation. Very unnatural. Check the area under the chin for example. Way to much green. Like some one was actually painting color with brush and accidently went a little over. And yes totally agree Nx1 is a little oversat for my taste as well, but contrast is spot on with what has eye observed and most importantly microcontrast is correct (but again I won't use jpg straight away from Nx1 either, I would tinker with raw instead simple Sat problem. Just wanted to show the diff). It is not quite WB problem for me with Fuji, at least not alone... What I do is changing green saturation selectively in the layer (easy in Capture One) for just green next to human skin...Also this negative clarity (or microcontrast) seems to be on as well, one other thing to correct in PP for me.And even if it would be just WB problem, having WB problem in the day time with overcast skies, perfect day light and only source of light is less than desirable, don't you think?
My guess (I'm not in expert in sensor tech) it has to do with amount of green pixels in X trans pattern...
Yep it is all correctable in PP, just takes a lot more time than I'd prefer per picture basis. And benefit of the pp rendered jpg is very comparable with what I can get with Nx1 or K3 II for example. So what I gain in usability basically been negated by PP time.

And I'm seeing it in RAF files (I do prefer to use raw files) as well so no need to change camera jpg color rendering (even though I've tried anyway...) Still see it there.

But as I've said a lot of people seems to like Fuji representation...Somehow I don't. :(

I did asked on Fuji forum already. People there seems to prefer the rendering (well if you only see it without comparison it could easily be ignored) but side by side it is a lot easier to spot. Just to put things in perspective here is what I'm talking about. This one direct jpg. I can show you RAF conversion without WB adjustment which is similar. Again perhaps no big deal for some...But I see difference.

Skin tone tint. This is very low native iso.

Hello everyone. This just more observation and opportunity for me to share? Just to keep things short, I do own 2 dslrs (apsc and ff bothPentax) and 2 mirror less systems (Samsung Nx1 and Fuji Xt2). Most of the work I do involve sports events and casually portrait sessions, and parties. Long story short, I do not plan to replace my K1 (FF is FF) but was considering replacing K3 II which I use mainly for sports by mirror less system. K3 II is good for sports but not great as we all know it...So if mirror less system is good with proper 4K video (why not as the plus) great why not to switch...My friend sold me his Nx1 for cheap (disappointed by company flop) and I guess I was too excited by Xt2 capabilities I've pulled the trigger on it as well :) Ended up with 2 mirror less systems now :)
Anyway, I like Xt2 , I like the usability, how fun the system to use, how light it is, how good is the glass...But I can't justify X sensor picture output for sports events. Wow, can't believe I said that. Dont get me wrong, I love the way portrait comes outs those skin colors... Great travel camera as well...But for sports for me..., jpg or RAF is well green tinted (the team I'm affiliated with playing in Green uniforms) with green background (trees) and green grass, sensor/processor needs to be very delicate not to tint it...And X trans seems to do it in both jpg and RAF for me. I can post process it, but it takes extra time...Darn it. Such a great sports mode...12fps...And great buffer. For example nx1 buffer is not so good, but raw and even jpg is pretty accurate (just tiny bit better than K3II quality as far as output goes for my taste). I've also tried to use it for indoor events (not as many false greens) which I primarily use K1 for rite now...But past 3200 iso I sure see wax skin problems that petapixel talked so much about (but no tinting). Anyway, haven't tried video yet, but Nx1 video quality is hard to beat. Nx1 is bulky of course, almost DSLR. So keep coming back and forth...Perhaps you guys have some experience with it ? Read a lot of Xt2 manuals, even bought the book with X-pert tips for it and followed a lot of different recommendations but overall tinting is there and so does wax skin :(

I have good glass for both mirror less. 50-140 f2.8 for both
