Wanted to bring this post back up from the dead! I've been looking at cutting down a vintage screen for the K1 (did this for a K5II using a screen from a dead P30N), but it's a challenge to find a large enough screen.
Talk of shims aside (that's inevitable with any aftermarket focusing screen really), am I right in reading that to mean canon EC focusing screens are a perfect drop-in replacement size for the K1? Besides snipping off the tab of course. That's a game changer! I assumed it'd be a bit larger and would need cutting down to fit the 38x26 of the K1. If that's true and the only modification is cutting off the tab, I'll order an EC-L right now :O
