Thanks all! I always liked 28mm on APS-C, and 31mm isn't too far off. I feel like 35mm is just a tad bit too tight for an everyday lens (for me). You know, it is really hard not to like the 31 Ltd if you like that focal length. It truly excels at everything it does, and I know almost any bad image that comes out of it is my own fault. The only minor issue I have with it is that I wish it were more compact like the other Ltds!

Got to love the 31Ltd for it's wide open portrait feel, but with the more intimate feeling of a normal lens.

It's also really great at sunset colors...
K-7, 31Ltd @ F1.8, ISO400, 1/800
And the 43Ltd is "pretty" good at detail...

Agreed, DA* 16-50 is really a sweet lens, I think it's almost as good as 50-135. The only thing that I knock the 16-50 for is some noticeable purple fringing on high contrast borders. It's hard not to use it because it performs just as well as pretty much all of my primes at apertures above 2.8 (not shabby at 2.8 either, but a fast lens stopped down one or two to 2.8 will beat it). FA20/2.8, F28/2.8, etc don't seem to be much (if any) better IQ wise, but are a lot smaller. The 16-50 is a very versatile lens and with decent High ISO these days, can definitely be used indoors during the day and even at night if there is enough artificial illumination. Can't do that with the kit lens, at least not at 55mm F5.6.
Of course, back to the Limiteds, I have the 43 and love it. As long as I don't need to go wide, I'd rather have the 43 on my camera than the DA* (unless I need weather sealing). I'm sure that the same would apply with either of the FA Limiteds as long as I don't need the versatility of a zoom. I don't know how I feel about the DA Limiteds vs the DA* 16-50, because they are not really faster than the DA*, so the advantages you get are pretty much just size and build quality.
