I appreciate your input. Your picture is exactly what i was going for. Very nice. I'll add a longer lens to my wish list right behind the k3 or k3II.

"Even a "not so good" lens like the 50-200 would have given you a much better result but if you look at the Eagle's beak 1:1, it is sharp." Were you referring to if I had the lighting/exposure correct? or... the lens i'm using isn't the best? I'm open to all input to become better. Thank you

Cool... i'll throw it in the drop box folder. I guess I thought ISO 100 was the better way to go. I'm learning. Do you think with these changes the detail would have been much better?

Here's a link of 5 pic I took from a tripod.... using the 2 second delay dealio to minimize any camera shake. I went into the custom menu and did the adjust focus. -10, -5, 0, +5, +10. This is only the first lense I have done this with. Thoughts ?

Normally auto focus single. Center - weighted metering.

Would dust/dirt cause this issue?

Is it possible the auto focus settings are out of whack on my K20D? I took some pics of an eagle that wasn't that far off with my k20 and Tamron SP 70-200 F/2.8 Di lens. Camera states it was in focus.... the little hand indicated the anti - shake was in play.... and it's grainy.

Close up... I can get tack sharp shots. Is this another reason to upgrade to a K3 ?
