Pentax K1000. Kodak B&W film ....some years ago. An advertisement, nearly faded away, on the outside wall of a haberdasher that had long been out of business. The building has since been rehabilitated and painted and is something productive now on Dauphin street, Mobile Alabama. Probably isn't such a thing as a haberdasher any more.....anywhere.

Bought a box full of point and shoot camera's for cheap to take on singular photo shoot adventures just to see what they would do. One is a Pentax IQzoom EZY-80. Lots of name for a simple camera. This is from last week.

If you are wondering... a Sago Palm. I forgot to turn off the date thing. Notice the year.

It came in the mail today. Light meter isn't working right. Strange noise when advancing the cocking-advance lever. But.... shutter speeds and apertures seem more or less right. I'll be trying it out soon.

I just bought another one.... just to see if it works or not. It can't be in worse shape than the last. ....I don't think.

I got a Petri 7S recently. Paid $10 for it and discovered it had been dropped... from a high place apparently...and not onto a forgiving surface. Focus adjustment was hard because the track had been jarred out of joint. The film advance was problematic and required a little pocketknife blade prying to advance at first. The shutter worked and the various apertures seemed ok and connected to the controls. Then I got the camera going satisfactorily. The selenium meter seemed to be the only thing still working on it's own from the get go. Then I put in a a roll of Kentmere 100 ...all 36 exposures and went outside to try it out. I got ten exposures into the roll and then everything locked up ...except the light meter. I got the focus ring to work but the film advance was stuck and stuck good. I did develop the film. And... too bad it's now a paper weight. The lens seemed to be pretty decent for a relic of the past.

45 Mike, I picked up an Olympus 35RC a few months ago. It has a pretty sharp lens for an old rangefinder. Takes a little getting used to remembering that the on and Off is part of the aperture ring and that if you put it on "A" the shutter won't fire unless there is enough light. It's a pretty pocketable as old film camera's go. It's only slghtly taller than an Olympus PEN half frame and a lot smaller than a Yashica GSN. And.. I don't know why we are talking about it in a string for SLR Pentax images......but... if it isn't against the rules I don't mind showing a few snaps and agreeing with you that it is a fun little camera that can be bought for about as much as a meal at a fast food joint.

Oh no.... looks like I scanned the first photo from the wrong side...oops.
