Superb captures of vintage cars with a vintage lens! You're right, it looks like it will be some time before we can return to some form of "normalcy"!

Wonderfully sharp with vibrant color! That Tele-Tak is a much overlooked gem. You're going to love it.

Thank you for the positive comments! The Macro-Takumar only has six blades and I was also pleasantly surprised by the smooth bokeh. I think it was caused by a combination of the small focus distance to the fly versus a much longer distance to the background.

Another super series. You're on a roll with the Takumars!

Thanks for the info. I think you'll be very happy with it's performance when you nail focus. I sometimes use live view as an aid and find that it can be sharp wide open or at F6.7.

Nice and crisp shots! Do you recall what f-stop you used for these? I love mine for it's sharpness and color rendering in good light.

Thank you kindly. Yes, she is so small and well camouflaged that I only noticed her because of the hoverfly's strange posture!

The "clickless" ring physically opens or closes the aperture but cannot close it beyond the setting of the "clicky" ring. The normal procedure would be to set the "clicky" ring to the f-stop you want to use for the shot, open the "clickless" ring to maximum aperture, use the focus ring to acquire exact focus and then close the "clickless" ring until it is stopped by the setting on the "clicky" ring.
If you left the "clickless" aperture ring at wide open f4.5, and the other "clicky" aperture ring at f8, the picture will be taken at f4.5.
Hope this helps a bit!
Best.

Look into the Takumar 200mm f3.5 (unless you do not prefer preset lenses). I really like mine and they seem to be highly regarded by most owners.
