I was thinking it was an ad for certain substances that are not cereal and are not allowed for sale under normal spelling methods :)

I've had a lens that came looking like that, but it was all just the foam from the case.
I threw the case away, IIRC. The lens is great.
And I did get this box from a seller here on the Marketplace
To be fair, the lens in the box was perfectly undamaged, but I was very worried...
But that's too bad... that would have been a fun toy to play with...

I accidentally posted this in the "high price ebay" thread instead of this one... maybe it's a good warning in both...
I have a saved search running for the "Press Van" camera -- it's a really slick and quite unusual folder that uses an Asahi Takumar 75mm f3.5 lens.
It can also shoot either 645/6x6 on 120 or 6x6/35mm, depending on which version you get...
This one is so popular I've had three separate listings for it show up in my search results: Press Van Asahi Kogaku Takumar 75Mm 3.5 | eBay
That one is the cheapest, at $211 for a fairly rusty camera... they go up to $279... all from Japan, all separate sellers... and one claims it's in EX++ condition (what?!)
And I can't find the listing, but there used to be a seller in Austria with one (for close to $500) that may have had the same images...
Someone tried to make their chrome KX black...
Maybe it's the prototype for that guy who does all those really expensive "rare" variants that he paints himself...

I got the ugliest look ever from a guy selling cast iron skillets when I told him I planned to cook with them...
But these are antiques!
They are antique pans. Made of iron. They do not wear out.
If taken care of, they will look the same after another 50 years of me cooking on them...

I almost feel sorry for some of those people.
Imagine you dug up something you knew nothing about and googled it. Because you typed 1.2 instead of 1:2, eBay tells you you’ve hit the jackpot... and now half of Pentax Forums’ online population is emailing you telling you that you messed up... :)

The word ‘minty’ makes me irrationally annoyed in descriptions of condition.
It’s usually over-emphasized , like ‘!!!MINTY++!!!!, and it doesn’t mean anything, unless the camera has a different smell...
I usually laugh when I see ads for the world-famous Pentax nEd camera and the professional ILX because they reflect a complete lack of understanding of what they have but without any attempt to rip people off...
