Oh, I agree entirely. I was speculating based merely on the possibility of production delays. If Tokina sold a bazillion 50mm lenses, that might interfere with the production of something else that we might want more.
And it’s all totally speculative, nothing real in terms of news...

It would be funny (in an extremely un-funny way) if delays on all the other Pentax lenses were due to success selling Tokina versions of Pentax lenses... though I doubt that’s the case...

DPreview just posted a gallery of 11-18 shots done on a KP. They look nice, though I’m not sure what all that blue stuff is in the Seattle sky...

Only if the waistcoat includes a battery and wireless charger... and the monocle needs to function with an augmented reality app (or at least Pokémon go)...
I think for a set of relatively uncontrolled tests, the 11-18 shows a lot of promise... I like it...

I had a great glob of something end up on my K1 sensor on day 2 of a week long work trip on the other side of the world from my Pentax sensor cleaning stick. I had to buy a sensor cleaner and do my first wet clean... worked like a champ and cleaned right off. I was really excited about that... I’d thought I’d remembered reading that the sensor filter was coated like that...

Google translate does Japanese... it’s an interesting article...
The simple conclusion: improvements from the coating upgrade are significant. The SP coating and exterior treatment also make it more robust, even if it isn’t weather resistant.

Also google ‘rolling coal’ to see the extreme of diesel emissions mayhem...
The photographic equivalent would be shooting film and then squirting any bystanders with fixer every time you took a photo...

You could argue they’ve been doing professional quality interchangeable lens mirrorless cameras with video capabilities since Beta was a thing...
And they’ve done digital since the mid-90s

One of the reasons I like HP5 and Fuji 400 C41 is that I don’t feel I’m throwing much away with a commercial 6Mp scan.
When I shoot Ektar, there’s more there than the scan gets, but nowhere near 50Mp.
Someone back in the thread a bit said 10-12... that seems about right to me. Velvia or One of the really slow films may do better, but not a bunch...

I think of Sony a lot like I think of Honda. Honda has always been an engine company. That they make motorcycles, cars and airplanes is just to give them somewhere to put their engines. That some of those things are really good is just because they don’t want to do it halfway...
Sony is the same kind of thing. They make electronics, including sensors. They bought Minolta to put their sensors in (and give them a lens ecosystem). The fact that their cameras are actually pretty good is because they don’t want to do it halfway...
No doubt there’s a bit of Minolta DNA in every Sony camera, but when I see a modern Sony, I don’t think Dynax 5000, I think PlayStation... Pentax seems to have kept more of its “genetics “ intact, despite Hoya’s best efforts... maybe that’s because Pentax has never made the sensor...

Minolta? That’s not Sony... they bought that...
Mavica is Sony :)
I’m thinking late-90s digital with floppy-based storage...

I have a suspicion that some of the price increases are due to scarcity of the old ones.
Of course, once the new one is released, there’s a good chance those prices will fall as the new one shows up in stock...

In the image of the HD-FA35, there’s a little flare on the right of the barrel.
Is that writing or something else? I can’t tell on my phone...
Would quick shift need any visible sign?
It’s probably just a label...

Mirrorless is older than that...
People were putting loupes on ground glass for decades before reflex cameras :)
