It is ok and answer to my question


Rest assured that those models are a nightmare compared to any manual P&S camera. I would gladly have traded a raw image feature for at least aperture control :).

You bought it based on a photo show, a gallery, which is ok, we all do. But you had to see a gallery of X30 photos as well.
What you said is even more true for the camera you didn't bought.

@grispie, if I show you the bokeh I get from Nikon Coolpix L340 which has a smaller senzor (no manual control) than MX-1, or the photos I do with Panasonic DMC-FS42 which has even a smaller sensor (no manual control), you would buy those too? An X30 would have been an amazing investment, with great 1cm macro along with fantastic film simulations.
