Not a Pentax, but a Soviet Smena 8M, my first camera. Found it on a flea market browsing around. Had to buy it just for the sake of having it again. No intention to use it for making photos ever again with it, but rather to have a piece of personal history around. The difference between my K-S1 and the Smena is almost forty years... I'm definitely getting old :D

I can agree with the stated, however, my daughter has Nokia X with a 3mp camera and fixed zoom. I bought Microsoft Lumia 640 as it has a larger screen so I can use it as navigation and it's pretty much compatible with just anything on my Windows PC (calendar, email, etc) and it actually has a decent camera I tend to use now and then, however, more for sharing basic visual info over email than artistic shots :)
Samsung S4 may be a good device to carry around and have a handy photo shooting device incorporated, but currently it still cost here more than I paid for my K-S1 with the kit lens. :) Sorry for off topic...

If you were trying to comfort me, didn't really help, but thanks, anyway :) For the reasons you stated (mostly "b") I replaced my Canon 1100D with Canon SX50HS as I couldn't afford to have two of them at the same time. Recently I finally got a chance and went for my Pentax DSLR while keeping the prosumer Canon in the house, actually gave it to my 13 yr old daughter as she figured out on her own that the cameras on mobiles are... well, I'll remain decent and rather not say anything :)
Anyway, the Sigma is so much different than the kit lens I used so far that I have to learn everything all over again :) Bad news is that now I have three quite bulky lenses (90mm Tamron Macro, 70-300mm Tamron tele-Macro and this Sigma) that I will have to look for a bigger bag or leave (probably the wrong) lens at home. :o

Two things on a same day. Finally got my new Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 (as a replacement for the 18-55mm DAL kit lens) and learned a new definition of irony (not related with this particular lens)
I carry my camera bag wherever and whenever I go. Unless I just have to "run to the shop on the corner" ... I was just about to do that, went out and I saw a hawk (really rare sighting here, so close to houses) hunting down a yellow wild pigeon (again, not a bird I would expect to see often) and all just maybe ten meters from me as the hawk nailed the pigeon and ready to finish the hunt. Of course, this lasted for about ten seconds, not much more and of course, I came out of the house without a camera. The irony is that I was walking around for an hour just a few minutes ago making shots with my new lens and nothing interesting happened... Thus, no interesting photos today... :(
