Cool idea though.
Did you use lightroom for putting these together? Never did a multirowpano yet. like the fov and the sharpness of your shot, Bernard.

Got a Sigma 12-24 DG. This is wide :D
Has anyone else this lens? As far as I see it, its pretty rare out there!?!?
Until now this is my UWA solution.
But somehow some shots are incredible sharp and others are absolutely not. Haven't figured out why?
Is there a kinda trick for UWA and sharpness which I haven't heard yet? appreciate any advice.

this is actually one of my most puzzling questions I have... I shot a bunch on my K1000 in b/w but since the aperture is always open most of them are not that sharp but no vignetting after 18mm. I think this lens will work from 18mm to 24 and with narrower f-stop. Maybe it will shine at f8 in 18mm,... who knows...

Hey Pentaxians, I would appreciate a piece of advice. Just found a FA 20-35/4 and thought about might getting it and giving up my 12-24/4 since the K-1 is on its way. Would you recommend and encourage me to do this or do you think the 12-24 (from 18mm up) will have a better overall performance on the K-1? Wonder how the 20-35 will be on the whole 36mpx sensor and not just covering the sweetspot...
Hopefully this lens lab will soon open up and we have in addition to this the sample search database to help deciding such questions.

If you get a good deal with the samyang you can buy almost 3 for one price of the irix (saw a price fall this January to 260€ or so, have missed his sale, btw). But we will see how this lens will work in the field. Maybe it's awesome and worth the money!

Wow These shots Are really cool! Like the flares as an element of style here! Clever. I would not say that UwA are not for landscapes. I can down to 12mm in my k5 but I like to use it for stuff like this where you put the horizont near the upper edge and implement lots of stuff in the foreground.

Thanks for your advice, mate! I read some things about the lens flares on samyang that are under some circumstances really nasty... but what I saw to date. This lens is a winner!
I already own the DA 12-24. I can attach my nd filter (screw-on-option, 77mm), if I need a long exposure I would loose 4mm focal length compared to the samyang. This is not so much but it should be noticeable shouldn't it?! Until the K1 arrives here I won't buy any lenses anymore (except some eBay bargains haha), then I will check how my current lineup performs and then I think about a lens-lineup modification that makes sense to my photography.

After thinking long enough over this I will try the 12-24 I have on the K-1 and think additional to this lens I get a Samyang 14mm 2.4. saw a bunch of photos on samyang with Canon FF and liked what i saw ;)

I thought about this subject and I think the budget solution would be using my 12-24 f4 from 18mm.
Beside that I would go for the 14mm f2.8 Samyang. This seems to be a decent lens for wide shots and astro photography (no ND Filter can be mounted as the Tamron).
I realized that I don't really need an AF in a wide angle lens because of the great depth of field it gives by design. A Samyang 35 and beyond shooting wide open in f1.4 without AF is another subject (I think I wouldn't be able to handle the MF on point at that apertures :))
