I've been using Photolab since November. Overall very pleased with it. I switched from Darktable, although I still use the 2.6 version of that software on occasion.
DXO does a great job of one-click denoise without me having to fiddle with the levers. In general I can get an image I'm happy with out quickly.
One thing it has taught me is that I actually like a little vignetting, as I frequently find myself turning that autocorrect off.

Thanks, I'd love to visit Prague one day. Maybe when COVID is over.
I imagine that the repair will be pricier here. I'll start working on getting quotes on Monday I suppose. Thanks for the information, all!

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, where did you take your camera to get serviced?

Hi,
Unfortunately it seems like I have an issue with my flip screen. I noticed today that the screen goes black when I flip it out more than a few degrees. The camera still works and takes photos, etc, just no screen. It's still working fine unflipped for now.
Anyone else have this issue? Possible repair tips? The camera is out of warranty unfortunately.

There's a lot more information here.
26 megapixel sensor, interesting.
The video is kind of funny, they act as if more information is coming soon, but then if you look at their spec sheet it basically reveals everything about the camera.

I'm also struggling with colors in Darktable (on Windows 10) with KP DNGs. The last pre 3.0 build still works great for me and produces lovely images, but starting with 3.0 to the current build I get this weirdly off skin tone and... just a look that makes everyone look vaguely ill. I guess I can just use the old build forever, but I'd love any suggestions about what to do here.

At least in the KP, you go into AF with Viewfinder setting, then AF.S Setting, then set to Release Priority.

I have a Panasonic G85 and I'd recommend that if you want something that has excellent 4K quality, mic in, and awesome video stabilization. They are plentiful used although dunno in your area.
I have an inexpensive adaptor I bought that allows for manual aperture control with Pentax DA lenses. I haven't used it much though since the kit lens with the G85 is quite nice and perfectly sufficient for my needs.
I can't really recommend using any Pentax camera for video, sorry.
EDIT: it might be called the G80 in your region, I don't know why Panasonic makes this so confusing.

If you have a K-70 it's probably better to wait for a future model. There's actually some things that are better in the 70 like phase detect AF in live view.
I like the KP quite a lot but I don't think it's enough of an upgrade unless you're really attached to the styling. I think the 70 is more versatile as well due to the deeper grip... I find the KP awkward with larger lenses.
Also I think the IBIS has technically been improved over the years but I don't find it any more effective than my K50s IBIS and buying an m43 camera was a revelation in terms of "oh, this is what way better IBIS feels like". (not criticizing the KP, it's just the smaller sensor on m43 makes IBIS much more effective).

If the SDM performance prior to conversion was markedly better than using the camera's internal motor you might want to repair, but the fact is that it isn't. So I agree with the prior posters.
It might hurt the resale a bit but I doubt that the cost would make up the difference. Also I have a feeling Pentax may eventually retool the lens as they are doing with the 16-50 at which point the lens probably won't be worth enough used to bother anyway.

I use my flip screen on the KP constantly so the Knew is a non starter for me unfortunately.
The one thing about the KP I would warn about is that even the "big" grip is smaller than your typical DSLR grip and added with the weight of the camera makes it awkward with larger lenses. I use the medium grip but I shoot almost exclusively with the limited primes.

I decided to not go with 3.x because I had a ton of color issues as well. Probably solvable but not worth it.

When the dust removal activates, you may hear a very faint high pitched squeaking sort of noise. But like I said it's very faint, because it does not involve moving the sensor with the Ibis system.

I was procrastinating so I made this guide if you want to do it using ExifToolGui. See attached pics below.
1. Open ExifToolGui and select the file you need to edit.
2. Click the "custom" button in the upper right.
3. You'll see multiple identical fields with the lens name under "LensType". Right click on one and then hit "Copy Value to Clipboard".
4. Click on the "workspace" button in the upper right.
5. Select "LensModel" field and then click into the bottom box. Paste the lens data in replacing the dash that is there.
6. Hit "Save" in the lower right. You will get an error message about duplicate fields: it doesn't matter.
7. Upload to Flickr. You should now see your lens listed.
Hope this helps!

The lens information is in the EXIF data, just not in the right place for Flickr. I use ExifToolGui to copy it from the custom "LensType" into "LensModel" and that takes care of it.

Maine (United States) Item Description
This is a Godox X-Pro P flash controller for Pentax. I received this as a gift some time ago and have never really found myself wanting to get into this side of photography, so it's time for it to find a more suitable home.
The device itself comes in the original packaging and has only ever been used to test that it works. I have never owned any Godox flash units so I haven't done anything more than turn it on and off. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I'm pretty sure none of the recent Pentax cameras have a low pass filter, so I think you'd have the same moire issues regardless. It can be corrected in post processing, though.
The K70 has an updated sensor and better live view functionality. On the other hand, it seems to have the same solenoid issue as the K30 and K50.
What's your budget?
