I only have one listing and all that I tried to do was to add prices to non-Pentax items and include photos.

I updated prices on some items on listing, however when I submit the changes a page not found message appears. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if there was some other issue.

I posted a sale item(s) and mistakenly clicked it as sold. Is there a way to relist it?

Thanks.

Issue switching from SD card 2 to 1

However you want to describe this issue, it should be obvious that unless you know how to fix it when it happens, its a problem. Others have experienced the same issue so this is not a matter of how to change a setting.

Its time to end this conversation for it is not productive to repeat what has already been said.

Best wishes.

If it was not a problem then it would not have been discussed now or six years ago. As was said the veterans have added the fix or routine to help avoid it.

Sorry, but the timing is how you regulate or choose to put in a SD card and that is the same as sequence, so however you want to say it, it doesn't apply to my initial post. It appears that this is a long standing problem and I am not the only one that has experienced it, so I very much doubt that its a problem with the mechanism especially since the way that I was able to get to read it was an already known fix. That said, it is not productive to repeating this, so I will end this and hope that Pentax will fix this problem in the future.

I am the only one who operates this camera, but as mentioned previously the issue was solved by forcing the camera to read SD #1. It appears that this is a known problem, but not one that Pentax had addressed. This is a bit odd and IMO the timing of inserting an SD card should not matter.

In this case both cards were inserted and it had been working normally before this occurred. This kind of thing should not happen.

This was a bit odd. I noticed that the photos were only loading onto SD card #2 and so I checked the program settings and even though I had selected the 1-2 option, the #1 was grayed out when I checked which one it was recording to. In the view photos mode, I could of course view the photos that were on SD #2 however when I switched to view SD #1 it of course said no images. The only way to get it to use SD #1 when shooting was to remove SD #2 and turn the K-1 on forcing it to use SD #1 and then reinserting SD #2, then when I turned the camera back on it then had SD #1 selected and I could select between both cards after that. I had also removed and reinserted the cards a few times, but that too did not fix the problem. Turning the camera off then on also had no affect. Changing the film format RAW JPEG etc also had no affect.

I don't know if you followed that, but basically it would not allow me to select SD #1, grayed out and all photos were being recorded on SD #2. The SD #1 was grayed out in the menus. The only way to fix it was to force it to read SD #1 after removing SD #2, thereafter SD #1 was no longer grayed out. Now, it seems to work normally.

I could have missed it, but did not find other threads concerning this issue.

Verbal camera control

I had this idea about using verbal commands on a camera knowing that it would not be that useful in some cases such as video recording with audio and perhaps wildlife photography, but was curious what others might think and what commands might be useful? I started to think about it when doing some astrophotography and how I would be able to use it to go to night mode.

Take your batteries out!

Baking soda is regularly used to neutralize battery and clean battery terminals on car batteries which is easy to do. What I do for electronics is to wet a small amount of baking soda and depending upon the compartment size you can use a cloth or q-tips to go over the contacts and wipe down the compartment area. You want to avoid getting liquid into areas that you might not be able to access. If you can disassemble some parts it might make it easier. Baking soda is very effective and it doesnít take much to neutralize the battery residue and will not harm any electronics. Once you are satisfied with the cleaning then follow up with a dampened cloth etc.

Personally, I would not use vinegar for this because it is a mild acid, actually ascetic acid, and as a liquid could seep onto electronics that you might not be able to reach and if left on it for a period it could possibly etch circuit boards. If you do use it then follow up with a dampened cloth with water or better yet distilled water.

By the way, you might consider using nitrile gloves if there is a battery leak that you are cleaning, but if you donít then put a small amount of baking soda in your hands to neutralize it.

Baking Soda will neutralize the battery residue and helps clean contacts. I have successfully used that for decades.

I take my batteries out and on some items have a small plastic bag zip tied to put the batteries in. Itís not practical or aesthetically pleasing to do that for some things however it prevents hunting for batteries when needed. I used to put a barrier of some sort on one end of an installed battery as someone had suggested, but I stopped doing that because the batteries can still go bad and leak. I feel safer by taking the batteries out.

For my K-1II I number the batteries so that I use and charge them sequentially.

flash recommendation for shooting w/ manual lenses

Wow. I sure have had a wake up call on this. I will admit that I used to think that a flash was just a flash and either it worked or it didnít. Nearly all of my photography has been outdoors as I had mentioned so I never even owned a flash during that time. I will bet that there are many others who might not realize that it could cause damage to a camera.

If I may, does this only apply to older flash technology used on todayís DSLRs or does it also apply to mixing brands? Do flash manufacturers follow a interface standard?

Well this has been an eye opener for me. Just curious, what would it do to a camera and how would you know? Are there other flashes to avoid for my K-1?

It is the 285 not the HV. Thanks for letting me know, as I never thought of a flash causing damage to a camera.

Thanks Steve. How one would know that is beyond me as there must be quite a few combinations?

That makes a great deal of sense to me and it sounds like you have some experience concerning this. Getting a detailed list would certainly be a great help, I will search for it. I was able to peel the rubber grip back a little on both ends of the zoom, see photos. Both ends show what appears to be scotch tape and one end has a strip of brass sheet also held in place by the tape.
