Thanks Arpe, I linked them to the forum's User Photo Gallery so I'll have to explore how I can get them larger in here.

Hello everyone,

I'd welcome your comments on these photos I have taken recently. All were taken with my Pentax K100D in available light.

Thanks

Good choice. I'm very happy with my K100D and I'm sure you will be happy with yours. What lenses did you get with it?

K100D vs K10D

I'm a very happy K100d owner and thus have declared my bias from the start. I'm a hobbyist/enthusiast who shoots family, model dioramas, reenactments, landscapes etc. The K100d with decent lenses is a great option for you in my opinion. I much prefer the compact size of it compared to the K10d. The layout of the controls are just fine on the K100d. I also can't see 6 megapixels being a problem. What you will save on the body you can spend on better lenses. I use the Pentax DA 16-45 and DA 50-200 zooms and highly recommend them both, although I hear the 18-55 kit lens is very good and it would be more compact than the 16-45. I can't speak about the Olympus E-510. Good luck with your choice.

K10 worth the extra $300?

I would put the $300 towards lenses for the K100D. If this is your first DSLR you won;t be disappointed with the K100D.

This is my first post on this forum, so Hi everyone.

I like what you are doing with this picture of a very pretty girl who looks great in this reenactment costume.

I agree the background needs some work but no doubt you were limited with what you could do at the time. It looks like you will be keeping your editing program so maybe you can work on the background some more with the program but it doesn't take away from it being a lovely photo. The girl is nicely posed and the lighting is great. It reminds a bit of those B&W photos they used to hand colour. I'd like to see you do something like that if you are inclined.
