Hi,
Took these on a very quick visit to a hostel in Scotland that we may be going to manage. It literally is in the middle of nowhere with only a railway platform and little cafe that we would be managing aswell..

Thankyou everyone:D I was chuckling for a long while after we left Lopburi, crazy place and crazy monkeys and im glad I caught a little of that. They didnt steal any food from me but they did from other people that were silly enough to be holding some!

Jeff, thanks, its been a while and its nice to be back on the site. Things have changed a bit, it looks good and continues to grow. Just need to start entering some competitions again....

Hi,

I have been away for a while and recently got back from 3 weeks in Thailand. Great holiday and a bit of a culture shock for me but I really enjoyed it. Unfortunatley we didnt see many wild animals but did see alot of wild monkeys living in a town called Lopburi, probably the most bonkers place I have ever been!

The rest are from Chiangmai zoo which we were a bit dubious of going into but the animals all seemed happy enough and had pretty good living conditions.

I have many more but dont want to bore people with holiday pictures!! By the way these were all taken with the 50-135mm which still remains my fav lens even though its not the best walk around lens, just want 16-50 and a K7 to attach it too;)

Lopburi monkeys...

These are from the zoo..

Hi,

Some panoramics of Vesuvius' crater. Not sure you get much of a sense of scale but its pretty massive... Spectacular place and I have a bit of my shelf to prove it!

The outer crater..

With these last 2 I tried to blend exposures but im not sure its been too successful, ill try them again.

A few holiday snaps from Capri

Hi,

Got back from a holiday in Sorrento recently and had a trawl through all the photos taken, there are quite alot!

All these shots are taken on or around Capri, a small island next to the bay of Naples. We hired a little speedboat that we could drive ourselves around the island on, took about 2 hours.

Setting off from the harbour.

The Faraglioni stones.

My girlfriend Lucy driving the boat.

Grotto Bianca, one of the many caves around the island.

Inside Grotto Azzura or Blue Grotto. The water is actually that colour! (shame about the oar but never mind)

Back on land and looking down one of the sheer cliffs at the shorleline.

And finally looking back across the water to the Sorrento peninsula, It was very hazy!

There are many more but these are some of the better ones. I still have to get through all the shots of Vesuvius, Pompei, Herculanium, Naples, Sorrento and the Amalfi coast!! Going to take a while:)

Good shots of some amazing looking landscape:) We get nothing like that here in the UK!

The snow looks a little to dark though, I tried a quick auto levels adjustment on the 1st one and it looks a bit better..(inmho)

sorry for messin with your picture but its the easiest way to explain!

Hi,

The original of this shot is a bit dull and boring so i thought i would try and save it with a bit of tonemapping. Its a shame there wasnt more sun to light up the landscape! Fleetwith Pike is the triangular one in the distance.

Balck and white version, im not sure about this..

Hi,

We went for a wonder around Ennerdale in the Lake District today with the intention of going up Green and Great Gable (the big lumps in the background) but the weather closed in just after taking this shot.

My girlfriend and I are hoping to run this little youth hostel for a season sometime but there is a que to get in so we will have to stay at Keswick for the time being....

Thanks very much everyone, no1 it is. Ill try cropping some of the grass off though.

I downloaded a new program that stitches raw files together which hopefully meens I can get fairly large prints from them. If anyone is interested the program is PTGui, its fairly inexpensive and I found that it works far better than Autostitch (which is still pretty good) and can work with huge file sizes.

Thanks again:D
