Am I crazy or ...? 24 vs 27mm.

I like the output Sigma 18-50 gives. I rarely used 35mm to 50mm range though. I have been looking at the 10-20 and 12-24.... the Sigma looks more appealing.

I have my Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 Macro and like it. When hiking, taking nature views, etc I'm finding I "bottom out" at 18mm a lot and wish i had a slightly wider view. Would it make sense to go for the Pentax 16-45 f/4? I know it has great IQ. Indoors I have the flash(es) so f/2.8 is not a deciding factor here.

The BG3 is only $99 Canadian. I bet for your time in making a mold it wouldn't be worth it. Plus you'd be lacking the 2nd shutter release and 2nd AE-Lock button.

Also on the bottom of the K200D are 2 recessed screws. The grip has 2 points that match into the recessed areas on the camera so the grip doesn't spin on the tripod mount.

It won't work on the K100D. The grip has an proprietary interface with the K200D. Basically, there is a rubber tab on the bottom of the K200D. You remove the tab so the 9 pin interface on the grip will communicate with the camera.

The difference in the feel of the camera has changed, shooting in portrait mode is so natural now. What is also cool is how you can tell the K200D how to use the batteries; Auto: use which ever set has the strongest power or use up the power in the Camera first or Grip first.

Thanks jgredline, I used the 50-135 most of the time. Of this 5 photos 1, 2 and 5 are from the 50-135 and 3, 4 are from the 18-50.

Thanks Bob, it was a good time yesterday. I'm going to edit the rest, place them on DVD and let the couple decide which ones they want printed.

Here are some from the wedding today. I like the B&W over the color though I'll include both for the couple. Considering I was out of position to give the hired photographer his space what do you think?

No flash used on this one;

The Wedding was today and went fairly well. The hired photographer was very good, made note on certain things he did during the event. I spoke with him briefly before the service about me taking photos and it wasn't as issue, he even said he'd stay out of my way. I said no, this was his time and didn't have to worry about me at all. A very nice guy.

The church has a L shaped balcony, I stayed up there most of the time and made use of it all. I used the 50-135 for 80% of the 148 shots I took. I'm editing them now and may post some tonight or tomorrow.

About how my equipment handled the event;

- 540FGZ (or equal) is a must have, I even bumped the EV to +0.5 to +1.0 for most shots. I used my 360FGZ in the same building about 2 months ago, no comparison. One issue though; red eye and lots of it.
- 50-135 for the first time hunted a bit. My error too... I was trying a bit too hard sometimes, didn't tell myself to relax enough.
- 18-50 no issues.
- K200D, no issues, set to RAW DNG and 400 ISO.

I used a parody on the original phrase, lol. There was a cop show from England called Spender (played by Jimmy Nail, great shot btw) The character called Stick said; "Red Sky at night, Sheppard's house on fire" ...it has stuck with me ever since.

I take my 2 lens kit everywhere I go ...well, not everywhere ;) I have some examples on page 2 of my site that are all from my 50-135; Pentax K200D Photo Gallery, page 2 The constant f/2.8 comes in handy frequently in dense forested areas. It's amazing how dark it can get even in clear skies.

Thanks cupic, it was an excellent day, if I wasn't with the better half and kids I could have ventured further. I do have a spot highly recommended in that area to hike to but, I need 3+ hrs. It's a plan, just when it happens I'm not sure ;)

Once again the family went to Buntzen Lake, a local place to get away from ... well, its usually packed with people so fresh air and scenery is what you get. ;)

I took my Sigma 18-50 EX Macro with me this time. All are JPG, used a polarizer and hood. I hope you enjoy the photos.

DA lens film camera compatibility?

I'm sure it will work but, DA and DA* lenses are not full frame are they? Therefore you'd get vignetting correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd love to try my 50-135 on a MZ-S I have my eyes on.

Bad news for the GVZ, the lion ate the eagle. Seems as though the eagle flew into the lion cage while trying to avoid nagging crows, got distracted and well, bye, bye birdy.
