There are 2 models, older and newer, "B" and "BB", the older has a tripod mount. It's said to be slighty better at infinity (but no proof), the newer is better for macro. (Pseudo macro).
Your sample seems to be excellent.

Thanks for the feed back kwb
I understand why : For the exact reason I use it ;)

So I suppose I'll have to typo the exif from now on...

Imgur is so fast & easy.

I know it's possible to use Google Photos as a hosting service : Complicated, but feasible.
Well...

Pentax Q7, Fujinon 25mm 1.4

THE "Flickr" is dead, whatever it becomes. I don't care now.

Exif : I was lazzy and I've downloaded the pictures from Flickr, to put them directly on line again. It's perhaps the explanation.

Let's try differently : Do you see the exif now ? (I don't use an exif viewer, so I don't know)

The 500/4P is obviously very good. What about the A7RII without the TC 301 and then cropped into the 42MP ?
(Is the TC 300/301 recommanded for the 500/4P ? - I'll check B.Rorslett)

Hi Buberfan,
Same problem here.
I'm learning Darktable. It's a powerfull tool. Not easy.

Only for the DNGs of the Q7...

I shoot JPEG+RAW : I use mainly the JPEGs but sometime I need the raw to rescue the picture.

I'm angry against you, DXO, and for this reason, as long as I'll use the Q7, I won't upgrade.
Understand me : I don't care if you don't create a Q7 profile because there is not enough users.
But why can't I open the DNG as if it was, say, a K5 !?
With all the disclosure you want. My challenge, not yours.
Well...Darktable.
For JPEGs basic editing in Picasa (love it), and when I need it, Nik software, ICE, some others specialized tools.

m43 lens to Pentax Q adapter

Answer : Yes!

1/ You've to make the outside of the adapter black, if your adapter is translucent (easy)
2/ You've also to make the inside of the adapter black, because if you don't do that, inner reflexions kill the contrast. This is valid for each & every adapter you could have.

My method for my particular adapter is at #12
Your goal is something matt, choose the material available (cardboard, velvet, gaffer, paint...)
There is no need to be meticulous : Just kill the glossy parts ;)

Aaaargh !
Barondla, I've just checked the lens today, and mine too !!
Just a begining of haze, but it's there.

The lens was clear when I got it, so I was happy to have a keeper...Bad news, the lens is now dead :(

What about a hike with several 400mm to reach the blind ? ;)
The plastic zoom Sigma 70-300 APO is smaller & lighter of course.

But, it's not a 40cm ;)

All the lenses show the hood deployed BTW

Sigma 400 5.6 "APO".
A word about the lens: Probably the shortest 400mm ever built! Wrong : The Tokina is shorter.
Sigma's "peach skin" coating on the barrel has become sticky over time (as usual).
A black residue remains on your fingers....That's the only reason I used camo gaffer here.
The lens is as sharp as any in its time, more or less the same level as the Nikkor for example.
The focusing ring is not pleasant, it's difficult to be precise, the colours are on the yellowish side
(f8/f11 1840mm eq.)

EDIT & DISCLOSURE : I've just checked the lens, it has developped haze because of the cemented groups separation...
Just a beginning, but the lens is dead. It was clear when I got it. :(

Thanks kwb !

So, I'll make a long answer later on ;)
This is the short one for now :

400 5.6 TOKINA NIKON-001 by phoenix jc, sur Flickr

The lens is surprisingly sharp ! already @ 5.6
Small, light, pleasant in hands, perfect focus ring...Cheap.
But fully loaded with CA.
I got the lens for a song...And paid an expensive price for the Nikkor. What a pain.

Fixed camera (almost) so the size of the Blue Heron gives you an idea of the distance.

It's pretty incredible, but it seems that, You, Pentaxian, have never shared any picture of the classic Pentax 400mm 5.6 adapted on the Q/Q7...
Whatever, I was unable to find any pictures.

This is the SMC Pentax 400MM 5.6 K prime on the Q7 ;
Pictures tomorrow : I just want to remind the general rules of the game for now :

- No middle-class legacy telephoto is good enough for the demanding Q/Q7 sensor.
- f/5.6 (and wider) : Never EVER
- f/8 : Best
- f/11 : Better
- smaller f/stop : Forget about it

(This is a general rule : Check your gear!)

Hi kwb,
the answers are ; yes, yes, yes.
Previously I was only able to adapt Nikon/Nikkors on Q/Q7
Now, I can adapt all my lenses OM, FD, MD, M42...PK : K 400mm 5.6 ? Mmm...The Leica is better,
Tokina 150-500 5.6 ? this heavy thing needs a try.
Just for Fun ;)
