Micro Four Thirds Club

I took this photo on 03 March 2017, in Perth, Western Australia. I like to try and grab a moonshot now and then.

The photo was taken using a Panasonic G85 with a K mount to Micro Four Thirds converter on a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 at 200mm, on a Sigma 2x teleconverter...and then on a Sigma 1.4x teleconverter :)
Processed in Lightroom and I was reasonably happy with how this one turned out.

I'm quite new to micro four thirds, only having had this camera since December...the commentary and images from this thread helped convince me it was worth trying this format, so thanks everyone :)

Cheers

Item for Sale
SMC Pentax-F 24-50mm F4

Asking Price
250.00 AUD

Item Location
Perth, Western Australia (Australia)

Item Description
SMC Pentax-F 24-50mm F4

Not one that comes up too often, and may be of interest to some, particularly those lucky enough to have a K1 :)

This lens is in excellent condition for it's age. There are no significant marks on the body, no cracks or dents.
The glass is not scratched or hazy, with just minor internal dust as you would expect of a 20-30 year old lens.
The focus ring is fine, standard F series small ring and short throw, but no issue.
The zoom ring is fine from 24-28mm, a touch stiff between 28-35mm, then fine again from 35-50mm. It does not require forcing, just noticeably tighter in that middle range than at either end. The total physical lens length is shortest at 30mm, so not sure if that's a contributing factor?
The aperture ring is fine, again just the normal F series feel, but likely you'll just have it locked in 'A' all the time regardless. The aperture blades are dry and snappy, no oil or issues.

The lens comes with original front cap and original rear cap only, no hood etc.

I purchased this lens from Japan. I've been spending too much on lenses lately and accumulating more than I need, all while contemplating my upgrade options from my K-5. I think I've made my decisions and I really can't justify keeping this lens...as much as I want to. Tested operation on my K-5 and no issues observed.

If you are in Perth, Western Australia and would like to test the lens before purchase please let me know. I accept PayPal, but again, if you are in Perth and wish to do C.O.D and collect the lens that would be fine.

Postage within Australia is included. I can ship worldwide, with additional postage cost calculated, likely an extra AUD$25 to most international destinations.

I would accept return if the lens is not as described.

I've just added some quick photos, excuse the quality...I probably should have given the lens a quick clean before taking the photos :)

Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Thanks
Dean

I have made a number of purchases via Zenmarket and found them to provide very good and reliable service. I have purchased auction items through yahoo auctions and also purchased items from MAP Camera by sending Zenmarket a link to the web page of the item I wanted...they will basically buy from any Japanese store with an online presence that ships within Japan. It's not always super convenient, for example you pay the domestic Japanese shipping plus the Zenmarket international shipping, but for items that are hard to find, unique or competitevly priced I would not hesitate to use them again.

Hope that helps, and again I'm not affiliated with them in anyway, just a happy customer :)

We had a very intense sunset yesterday here in Perth, Western Australia. The late afternoon light was very unusual, and then some crazy colours throughout the sunset. Combination of a burn off somewhere and very little afternoon breeze? Anyway, I thought it was worth a shot :)

Thanks for looking

Hi Peter

Thanks for your message

I'll be able to post some pictures in a day or two...I'll post pictures of both. I've just checked postage costs to Germany and it will be about AUD$25 also, so 1 lens shipped will be just under AUD$50.

Thanks, and more soon.

Thanks BigDave. Well, good to know it's not just us Aussies to lazy to use the big words :)

Agreed on the DoF...not sure why I didn't go with a higher f-stop...just blazing away a bit ;)

Thanks photolady, I did actually take a few more with a higher f-stop, but didn't end up liking the composition as much...I'll have to pay a bit more attention next time I mount the macro.

Thanks very much Brian

Yeah, for me there was something about the vertical blue/green divide and the shell texture...I really need to use the FA 50mm Macro more...it's a bloody good lens.

Appreciate the comment...I can see why people get right into macro (no delusions about my meagre abilities here)...it really is awesome focussing on the little things every now and then :)

Thanks for the comment Tony.

Yeah, I could probably have gotten away with a higher f-stop/slower shutter speed combo here, you think? :) To be honest, for a snail, he was surprisingly quick!

I had a spare moment last weekend, so threw the macro lens on the camera and took a couple of shots in the backyard. This is the one I was happiest with...nothing too exciting, just a common garden snail on a common blue tarp.

It did make me wonder if other countries use the shortened form of Tarpaulin...tarp...or is this another example of Aussies being too lazy to use full words? :)

Photos removed of sold items.

Photos of the Sigma 10-20mm itself.
The glass, both front and rear, looks good on inspection, no cloudiness, scratches or cleaning marks...just a touch of surface dust ;)
The body is clean and in good condition, though you'll note the rubber on the zoom ring has greyed some...actually looks a little worse in the photos than in real life. The rubber is not dry, cracked, crumbling or loose...tactile it's fine, just the discolouration. Some general wear marks on the body, but really nothing to note.
Any questions, just let me know.

Photos removed of sold item.

I have taken some quick and dirty photos with the Sigma 10-20mm.
The photos are at 10mm f/4 and f/8, 14mm f/4.5 and f/8 and 20mm f/5.6 and f/8.
All at ISO 100 (well, one at ISO 80) on a classic K5. Shot in RAW, imported to Lightroom 4.4, using Huelight K5 standard setting, exported to JPEG at 1024 on long edge, standard Lightroom sharpen for screen, no other adjustments.
To my eyes at 10mm f/4 looks soft in the corners (but nothing to compare it to at this angle of view), not bad at f/8 and at both other focal lengths seems quite decent to me at both f/ stops.
Please excuse the uninspired subject, the shots were taken in a rush on my lunch break :)
Hope this helps, let me know if any questions, and I will try to take some shots of the lenses themselves at some point soon.
Cheers
Dean

Hi everyone. I've been lucky enough to pick up a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO (non-DG, non-HSM)...seems like a great lens :)
Has anyone had any luck finding a suitable lens hood for this version?
