Item for Sale
Pentax k-7, DA 18-55mm WR kit with Tamarac bag and extra battery!

Asking Price
US $950

Item Location
Buffalo, NY USA

Item Description
Camera purchased in December 2009. Still in like new condition. You'd be hard-pressed to tell that it's been used at all. Always stored/transported in Tamarac pro bag (included in the sale, originally over $100). Sale includes box, all included manuals, accessories, etc. UPC has not been removed!
18-55mm WR lens has only been used once, still in perfect condition.
Aftermarket battery also included.
This camera takes amazing shots (just check out any of my posts) and I will miss it dearly. Unfortunately, money is tight with a baby on the way, so I need to scale back and be a little more conservative.
Paypal fees are included in sale price... no additional fees (other than shipping).

No International Buyers please... Continental US only.

I will also be posting a DA 21mm ltd lens in outstanding condition if the camera sells. Those looking to purchase both can do so for $1350.

Item for Sale
Pentax DA 40mm Limited

Asking Price
US$325

Item Location
Buffalo, NY USA

Item Description
Lens purchased in hopes to collect the big three limited lenses (21, 40, 70). Unfortunately, I have other financial needs that must be met.

The lens is in excellent + condition, with little to no marks. No dust or fungus. Even under close inspection, it is difficult to tell that this lens has been used. Pictures are tack sharp and the focus speed is outstanding. I will truly miss this little jem.

Continental US buyers only, please.

I have posted others in the DA limited thread, but considering the 21mm ltd is my favorite lens, I thought I would post here as well.

I just wanted everyone to know that I have a love/hate relationship with this thread... I just broke down and picked up a 40mm ltd. I have been shooting exclusively with the 21mm for the past 3 months and have become addicted to it. Because of the great images posted here, I had to add the 40 to my stable. Look for a post or 2 after it arrives!

DA21 -- probably too wide?

I shoot almost exclusively with the DA21... I love the ability to include a sense of environment/setting when shooting portraits. Also, this lens is my favorite for street photography. Check out the blog listed in my signature to see some examples of shots taken with the DA21. Everything from 200-229 was taken with the DA21.

m.genna,
I shoot a lot of street photography, and I always take my k-7 with my 21mm limited. I have come close to purchasing other lenses to compliment the 21mm, such as the 15mm or the 40mm... but I love the view through the 21 and I don't know how much I would use the others... If I was in your shoes, I would pick up the 21mm to complete the 21-40-70 trio, then take the 21 with you...

i am currently shooting with the 21mm ltd, and a looking to expand my limited collection. The problem is, I can't decide which lens to pick up... the 40mm or the 15mm. Any thoughts?

Marc,
not sure which one I'm more envious of... the 15mm or the vacation. Great shot!

rhe,
thanks! the last shot was taken on New Years Eve... my Mom, who normally hates getting her picture taken, asked me to shoot a portrait of her. I think I really captured her personality in this shot.

vertical grip for the K-7

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my request for thoughts regarding a vertical grip. It's great to know there are people out there willing to share their knowledge to help others.
I have decided to send the grip back... for two reasons:
1. not worth the extra weight, etc. Just went for an hour hike without the grip and never wished I had it with me.
but more importantly...
2. I'm going to use the coin to pick up a 15mm limited! I love my 21mm ltd, so I feel that I must continue to fill the stable with more limited glass.

So thanks again to all who contributed!

vertical grip for the K-7

All your #1 reasons are the same as mine... I did pick up a second battery, and the life of the battery is far longer than what I've experienced in the past with my Canon DSLRs, so I have no worries about heading out into the mountains for a weekend with the camera and 2 batteries.

May I recommend the 21mm limited as a future lens. I put it on when it arrived last week and I haven't taken it off since. I'm actually thinking of sending the grip back in order to use the $ to pick up the 15mm limited.

Wow, let's keep it civil

... first of all, I have only taken 5 vertical shots out of the past 10,000:
"I have taken no more than 5 images out of the last 10,000 in the vertical."

Weight and size are a bit of an issue, considering I carry the camera in a Kata 455 to work everyday (I work as a high school assistant principal during the day).

As for the "posing" comment, I have been shooting for over 10 years, the first 5 as a pro working on editorial and advertising assignments. And I believe my images speak volumes. The "pro" concern arises mainly during my work at big car shows. Owners respond differently when they see someone with a professional-looking rig. They tend to give better access to their cars and are more willing to allow portraits to be taken with their chrome beauties.

Debating between keeping the vertical grip I just purchased for my new k-7, or returning it and using the coin towards a 15mm ltd. I already have the 21mm ltd, and it has not left the mount since putting it there the day it arrived. I don't even bother carrying the 18-55mm kit lens anymore.
