Pentax DA 55-300mm f4.0-5.8 ED
This is the metal mount version (not the DA-L version) of the great Pentax lens. Very sharp, smooth focus and zoom. Looks and works like brand new. Includes box, hood, front and rear caps and carry pouch.

Sigma 17-70mm f2.8 – 4.5 DC Macro for Pentax
This is a fantastic upgrade to the Pentax 18-55mm “kit” lens with much better sharpness and contrast. The extra focal length over the kit lens makes a big difference. Excellent condition and function.
Includes box, hood, front and rear cap.

Promaster Spectrum 7 28mm f2.8 Macro manual focus for Pentax.
This is an excellent choice for a small, fast “walk around” lens with the equivalent focal length of 50mm on a 35mm camera. The manual focus is smooth and the lens is in very good condition. I am told that this is similar to the Sigma “MiniWide” lens and indeed it looks exactly the same.
Includes front and rear caps.

Item Description
For sale is my very lightly used and well cared for Pentax K10D camera with a Pentax 18-55 mm DA F3.5-5.6 ALII lens and many extras. This is the “newer” version of the kit lens with improved resolution over the “older” version that originally came with the K10D. It has the metal lens mount, and the “quick shift focus”.
The photos show it with a screen protector over the display. The only imperfection is a very small scratch on the corner of the main LCD screen. You probably would not see it if I didn’t tell you about it. Other than that, the camera and lens are in perfect condition.
I have excellent feedback on e-bay as user: catalina1975
Shutter count shows as just over 7K, and everything works perfectly.
Here is what you get:
• Pentax K10D with box, Pentax neck strap, manual, CD, USB cable, and video hookup cable.
• Pentax 18-55 mm DA F3.5-5.6 ALII lens with caps, hood, UV filter and box.
• 1 Pentax battery and 1 aftermarket battery that both work great, and 2 brand new Konika/Minolta NP400 batteries (same as the Pentax battery) still in their original packages.
• 1 aftermarket wired cable release
• 1 Pentax Remote Control F (infrared) ...may need new battery
• USB cable and video hookup cable
• Extra split screen focusing screen (not sure of brand) The original screen is installed in the camera.
I am not looking to split this up at this time.

I have attached a couple of images here.

Both taken in bright sun.
The "anchor" was with the 18-55 f13 @ 1/250 at 55mm
The "dog" was with the 55-300 f8 @ 1/1500 at 78mm
I chose these 2 for the texture.
The log (18-55) just does not have the clarity. Even if I suspected front/back focus issues, I would expect somewhere in the image to be sharper.
In the one of the dog however, the hair is crisp, and there is great contrast. I realize the 18-55 shot was at a slightly slower shutter speed, but the
IS was on, and at 55mm
I would think 1/250 should not be an issue.
I realize these are only 2 images, but they are indicative of what I have been seeing. I dont have any shots with the 18-55 that impress me. I even
have a "cheap" Promaster (Sigma miniwide) 28mm f2.8 prime that does equal or better.

I was starting to lose faith in my recently purchased K10d (sorry Forum members). I was shooting with an 18-55 II Pentax kit lens I picked up on another forum. I was disappointed in the results (soft images).
Luckily I got a great deal on a Pentax 55-300, and started shooting. WOW...what an improvement. I love my K10d again!
Can anyone recommend another lens I can use in place of the 18-55 that will give IQ results equal to or better than the 55-300? Either Pentax or 3rd party in a similar type focal length to the 18-55.
I was thinking of the 16-45 Pentax, but see mixed reviews.

I purchased a refurb from Best Buy on line a few month ago to give the K10d a try. They web site said that when buying from Best Buy.com, the item can be returned to a store within 14 days if you do not want it. The one I got seemed to work fine, and looked brand new. The only exception was that it had the old firmware in it, which I easily upgraded.
In the end, I did not have enough time in the 14 days to really try it out enough (and get used to it) to be sure I wanted to keep it and returned it for a refund.
They tried to hassle me about it, but I "reminded" them about the online policy..they then took it back.
Of course being the fool I am, I eventually decided that it WAS he right camera, but luckily found a great used on on this forum for less money. Now I am a happy Pentax owner.
Just my 2 cents !
