Item for Sale
SMC DA*50-135mm f2.8 - Excellent Condition + 3 filters - Free Postage in Australia

Asking Price
725.00 AUD

Item Location
Newcastle, NSW (Australia)

Item Description
Here I have an excellent copy of the the exquisite SMC DA* 50-135mm f2.8.
This is probably my favourite of all the lenses I've used (including those on full frame). But it's time for 50-135 and I to part ways, so you can be its new owner. I have NEVER had an SDM issues with it, let's just get the out of the way - SDM AF works perfectly.
It comes in excellent condition (note: not NEW condition, I have owned it for almost 2 years so yes, it is used) but the glass is perfect and there are no major cosmetic blemishes. It also comes with everything - box, original pouch, hood, both caps. As you'll see in the photos, I have also thrown in some extras - 3 filters. 1 x Kenko clear protector which has been on the lens for most of the time I've owned it, so the front element is still perfect. 1 x Kenko circular polariser and 1 x ND8 (3 stop) neutral density filter. All filters have cases and are in good condition (as per photos).

Postage in Australia is included. The Paypal fee is ALSO included to bank deposit will encourage a $10 discount. Price is negotiable.

Worldwide postage, please message me for a price - though I should just say now, that with its box etc., could be quite expensive, but by all means message to find out.
Any other questions and offers are welcome - check out the pics and enjoy!

I didn't want 15 minutes of just my voice. It's not that I was going for a polished feature film look or anything, but the whole thing felt extremely dull without the music. When I put it in at the end of editing I was like "Ahhh, so much better."
But there you go, you didn't like it, thanks for your feedback.

Of course distraction-ness isn't a word haha.

Was the problem the volume/distraction-ness of it, or the music itself?

Hi guys,
Even though it's mainly Nikon gear I pack my bag with now, you guys are the camera community I feel most at home with so I wanted to share this with you; my first attempt at a product review. The reason I actually did a review of this and have never done before, is because despite this bag having been out for a little while - there are NO reviews of it ANYWHERE! Not even a single Amazon review!

So anyway, here it is, if you care to watch it please let me know what you think either on YouTube or here. Enjoy!
(PS. I'm no videographer so please forgive the jumpy cuts and big continuity error at the end).

Nikons not being consistent or functional?! NEVER! And by "never" I actually mean, that is the Nikon way if life. I use a D3 now (have sold almost all Pentax gear) and while it MAY be worth it for the I.Q., pretty much everytime I change a setting or go to the menu, I wish wish wish and wish harder, that Nikon would stop being so downright STUPID and inconsistent with their functionality. It is just a joke that a $500 Pentax K-x has more useable and convenient AS WELL as MORE FEATURE FILLED menus than a $4000 Nikon D3. I mean it's LAUGHABLE. So the Df? I'm sure it's just a $2700 bit of wank.

Was looking for this lens for Nikon and was excited to find it for $639 from eGlobal (who I've used before) - but alas in all 3 Sony, Canon and Nikon mounts, there was a large fee on top - but the $639 is for Pentax! Makes a change...

Item for Sale
K-5II (K5-2) body with extras: O-ME53 magnifier + battery grip + 3 batteries

Asking Price
635 AUD

Item Location
Newcastle, NSW (Australia)

Item Description
Here I have the excellent K-5 II, which might look like a K-5 on the outside but the autofocus is in a different league. I have basically not found a situation so dark that this camera will not accurately focus, which is great when using a dedicated flash (or the built in one) because you can basically make the light do whatever you want at wedding receptions etc.

It is in great condition - with a bit of dust etc. on the body but nothing other than cosmetics. The shutter count is 23,600. It comes with its original box, manual, software and charger. It also has the two leather lobe things that go over the strap when attached, and the strap is in good condition having had barely any use.
It also comes with THREE extras:
1. the Pentax O-ME53 magnifying piece, which out of the 3 magnifiers I've used it easily the best (and is better than the standard viewfinder too, in my opinion). It is highly regarded by other Pentax users too:
PENTAX Magnifier Eyecup O-ME53 reviews - Pentax Camera Accessory Review Database
2. A third party battery grip that is working, except for the front dial on it doesn't work - but I normally only use the rear dial, the AF button and the shutter button.
3. 3 batteries (the one original, and 2 third party).

This camera would be great particularly for an already Pentax user (e.g. K-5 or K-7) looking to upgrade to a full professional body with the lowest light AF of any camera out there, OR a new Pentax user looking to get one of the best rigs straight up.

I have moved to Nikon and already have the lenses I want so I'm just looking to de-clutter my office by selling this, hence the low price (factor in the cost of the eye-piece and the battery grip and batteries and you've looking at about $90 less, so the body is effectively $540!)

Postage in Australia is included (or you may directly pick up from Newcastle). Worldwide message me for a price.
I accept Paypal or bank deposit - and am willing to negotiate! BANK DEPOSIT also comes with a $10 discount ($625 total)! Message me any questions or offers you have... and enjoy!

Surely not... the Sigma 150mm macro in Pentax mount (false alarm sorry)

Yeah that mount changing service seems to be just about the most useless service to have ever existed since: they don't actually change a lens over to a given mount unless it ALREADY EXISTS in that mount. So if you happen to end up with a Canon mount Sigma lens that you need in Nikon mount, you could send it to them to get changed... or you could just sell the Canon one and buy a Nikon one. Wow.

Hi guys,
I have all but fully moved over to Nikon now - and I was just looking for the best price on the Sigma 150mm macro and I came across eGlobal - a store a lot of you will know, and it had a price of $915 for the Sigma 150mm macro, and to my surprise, added $54 in Nikon mount! BUT, that's not what I noticed most - what I noticed was that it added $30 in PENTAX mount.
I was sure that K mount copies of this were scarce so I went and checked - and according to the lens database, this lens was actually never produced in Pentax mount.
Now, yes, in all probability - eGlobal's website is wrong. But it's strange that it added $30, not the "default" $20 and not the same $54 that it added for Nikon. To me, that would suggest someone had done it manually based on the cost price of the item. Could it be that they actually have it?

If someone tried ordering it and they don't, you'll just get your money back in a few days (Paypal kindly hang on to it for no good reason)... worth a try for you Pentaxians?

Please help with screen blacking out on Nikon D3

Thank you to both responders, thanks azimuthal for the humble response where most people would have attacked.

Anyway - the issue seems to be far less prominent if I set the camera to instant review. It still does it occasionally, but somehow it seems to be far less often if the screen has something to play as soon as the photo is taken (it also means the "play" button seems to show an image much more often, even though instant-review and general playback aren't related).
I won't be renting a camera because I'm doing this wedding at bargain basement prices and the couple have stretched my budget as thin as it goes. If it goes really badly with the camera then I'll just switch to my Pentax even though my lens line up is thin.

"Go full frame." they said. "You'll like it." they said.
I HATE "they". I spent ages reassuring myself that Pentax was for me. My system was perfectly professional, the new K-3 would be even better... it's smaller... on and on I went with advantage after advantage. But eventually "they" and a bunch of other factors, convinced me on a D3 and some Tamron lenses. Now look, there are some parts of it that are amazing. But if you are reading this and are considering doing it: DON'T.
For every part of a Nikon FF system that's 30% better, there's a part that's 80% worse. e.g. the menu systems and general setting manipulation. It's DISGUSTING and no it's not just "Which one you are used to" - you will notice that the ONLY people who say that are people who haven't used a Pentax. Seriously, I challenge someone to use a Pentax for 2 months and a Nikon for 1 year and then say that it's a matter of preference. It isn't, Nikons are HORRIBLY laid out. I want to use a word that means "Held back mentally" but people may take offense, however it's the only word that carries the weight referring to unintelligence that the Nikon system needs to describe it.
ANYWAY - if all that wasn't bad enough - now, the screen is blacking out when I want to... do, well, anything really. Sometimes it will play an image, or show the "menu" (stupidness smorgasbord as I call it) but quite often it will just show a luminous black screen. The card has finished writing, everything is fine for it to play the photo back but it won't. I've tried different memory cards. Turning it off and on again MAY fix it but often doesn't. I even removed the battery for an entire day and that fixed it for about two days but then it went back to doing it.
Now, the person who sold it to me has agreed to pay for a repair or give me a refund if necessary, but that's not the issue. The issue is I have a wedding THIS SATURDAY and have only my Pentax and two prime lenses as back up. I'd really prefer to use the D3, and am trying to arrange borrowing a D700 from a friend, but it may not be possible.
If anyone has any bright ideas of things I could try - please do post them here, your help is appreciated, thanks.

Item for Sale
Pentax K-01 body, like new (shutter count 230) with all originals - Free post in Aus

Asking Price
265 AUD

Item Location
Newcastle, NSW (Australia)

Item Description
Here I have a K-01 purchased from B&H about 8 months ago and barely used at all, hence the shutter count of 230 - though it did get me through a patch that my K-5 was off for repair, which was a lifesaver because I got two of the best photos I've taken with this. I know it sounds strange to say I only took 230 photos with it but "it was a lifesaver" - but it came out when I just NEEDED to get the photo and didn't have my K5, that's why out of only 230 photos I've taken two of my best with it. It was great having a backup camera that had the same performance and 90% of the function of K-5, only taking up less room in your bag and in YOUR case, a much smaller dent in your pocket too.

I have all the software, manuals and accessories like Pentax battery and charger, of course, most of them aren't pictured because you know what they look like. EVERYTHING, including the strap and the box are in excellent condition - the strap is attached but I don't think I ever actually "wore" the camera, so it's like new. Also the Pentax lens mount cap pictured IS included.
Postage within Australia is FREE, worldwide please PM me for a quote. Australians - Paypal and bank deposit both accepted (or cash on pickup if you're around here) - bank deposit or cash will encourage a $5 DISCOUNT (making it a total of $260 posted to Australia).
I am taking offers but $265 with delivery included is pretty reasonable to please be sensible with any offers, otherwise, PM any questions you may have, photos should tell you all about the condition - enjoy!

Item for Sale
Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6 *like new with Aust. warranty* - free postage in Aus

Asking Price
595 AUD

Item Location
Newcastle, NSW (Australia)

Item Description
Here I have not just an excellent copy, but a -like new- copy of the highly sought after Sigma 8-16mm in PENTAX mount. Sigma ceased making these in K mount a while back, and I got one of the last new ones, AUSTRALIAN stock with a 2 year warranty with CR Kennedy, as pictured. I bought it in early July 2013 so it still has 21 months warranty left on it.
This also means the condition of the lens is like new. Right now, the only places I can find selling new ones in Pentax mount are charging $750+, so now is your chance to grab one!

This is a stunning lens, by the way. Before it I owned the 10-20 f3.5, and if anything this 8-16 is sharper, and of course 2mm wider ;)
Also it's beautiful mechanically, with a very nifty built in hood that works at its maximum efficiency all the time because as you zoom in towards 16mm, the front element retracts and is further shaded by the hood. Focus and zoom rings are nicely damped, and all around it feels like as pro level a lens as I've used.

Postage in Australia is included. The Paypal fee is ALSO included to bank deposit will encourage a $10 discount. Price is negotiable but silly offers will be ignored.
Worldwide postage, please message me for a price - though I should just say now, that with its box etc., it aint gonna be cheap. By all means message to find out, but yes, it could be quite high.
Any other questions and offers are welcome - check out the pics and enjoy!

K-3 pictures: front, side and back (aka it definitely is a headphone jack)

I also own guitars... only I do play them. I also play an electric piano with a quarter inch jack, have a music degree, and most importantly, worked in an electronic components store that sold quarter inch plugs and jacks in several variants... and that is NOT a 1/4" jack.
I'll admit it looks a touch larger than a 3.5mm, but it looks closer to 3.5mm than to 6.3mm, and besides, that would be the weirdest thing I'd ever seen on a camera. Why would they waste space with a 1/4" jack given that a) 1/4" jacks are normally reserved for fairly high end applications (i.e. guitars, good headphones, good amplifiers etc. have 1/4" jacks... computer screens have 3.5mm...) when seriously, how "high end" is the watching back of your videos going to be? It's not a home cinema... I'm amazed it has headphones at all! and b) you can get adapters. If anyone is in the 1% of people who will want to use this slot, and want to use it with a set of phones that only has 1/4"... there is an adapter for such a thing. The other 99% of people that either do not use the jack or have a normal set of headphones with a 3.5mm plug... they will want it to be a 3.5mm.
Haha, quarter inch jack... seriously man.
