The evil work of contract?

Ok same as I thought. I would not sign this contract for sure. Not a lot of money anyway. I am sure I will regret not be able to show my work in public.

So how to change the agreement? What should I alter to the agreement that grant me the right to use the photos for my own promotion purpose?

The evil work of contract?

Hello guys I need some help. I am relative new to agreement. I am about to do a food photography for a food company. They just send me a contract. But in the agreement there is something I heard people refer as The evil work for hire contract.
This is what the contract says
"This Finished Product will become the exclusive property of the Client upon acceptance of delivery. Upon acceptance of the photos by xxxxx, Photographer transfers any and all ownership rights exclusively to xxxxx and Photographer shall have no rights whatsoever upon such purpose."
"All photos are considered a “full buy-out” meaning the
photographer transfers all rights to xxxxx and has no claim to their ownership."

If I understand it correctly. I can not post any of the photo publicly for my own promotion. Right?
So how to change the agreement. how to alter the sentence. I am ok that the client have unlimited usage. They can use the photo for whatever purpose for lifelong time. I am fine. I also would not sell those photos to any other third parties. All I want is the right to use the photo for my own promotion purpose. Like post on social media, website, blog, etc. Thanks for any input.

Many hobbyist like the fuji film simulation feature. One of my female friend choose fuji just because of this feature. That is quite shocking to me. I know many of us can do it in post process. but can easily create that film look in camera is certainly handy.

at this price point..this is a no brainer. Purchase at authorized store. so if you get bad copy, you can exchange. but usually with some in-body micro adjustment, most lens should be fine.
The price of pentax 16-50 is insane....

Pentax body always good. but they lack good zoom lens. I would be more interesting to see Pentax update 16-50 and 50-135.

I was expect like around $1000..so it is much better.
It is similar like using 28-50 f2.8 on full frame..not bad for the price.

Blurry result sometimes

It is 200mm 1/2500s F2.8 ISO320.

This part is sharp. and seems the only part that is in focus.

other part of photo is all blury. at this shutter speed. It should not cause any motion blur.

F2.8 is shallow dof combine with 200mm. but still the person should be at the same focal plane as the leg. It should not be blury.

maybe you got a bad copy of the lens.

Advantage Pentax

I still think the most advantage Pentax over Canon and Nikon is the in body shake reduction.
and it become more obvious since dslr video is booming.
a video shot with IS and without is huge difference. even with shoulder rig, it still a lot better with IS.

another advantage is the availability of those cheap legacy manual focus lens.
again that is more an advantage when comes to video.

Man. if Pentax improve their video capability. I think Pentax is a very tempting system for many Canon or Panasonic HDSLR videographer.

well, technology is improving.
with the new YN 560 III, it has build in receiver. so people just need buy 1 YN RF-603 radio trigger. it can trigger YN 560 III with out additional receiver for flash.
If I have not own 3 manual flash already, I would build my flash system entirely with this new Yongnuo set up.

New PC Core i7 - how do these specs look?

My 5 years old compute (duo core, 3 ram) can process photo in photoshop smoothly. the difference compare to using my i7 16ram computer is that the powerful computer process third party filter a lot faster. but in general photoshop workflow, not huge difference.
well, maybe when it comes to 30, 40mp file, the difference will be big. but for 16mp. we do not need powerful computer for photo editing.

however for video editing. that is day and night difference. I definitely need my new computer for that sort work.

The right to upload photo to my portfolio website

Ok...so I did a small wedding photoshoot last week. indeed it is my first wedding shoot in my life (it is paid)
After I send the photo to them, and ask can I upload some photo to my portfolio website. They said no, they do not want.
I am very new to photography industry. I know formally we should create some kind of agreement or invoice kind thing before the photoshoot. that include agreement that photographer has the right to use the photo for non-commercial purpose.
anyway I do not know how it should be done.
But I just feel even we did not sign any agreement. I still have the right to upload photo to my own portfolio website. That my work. I am not selling the photo to other people, website, or use it on other commercial work.

so after all do I have the right to upload the photo to my website?

Thanks!

well, I have to admit, after switch to canon 7d.
my keep rate in low light significantly increased
now I can shoot at bar with almost no light.
it just need a little bit contrast, then it can lock focus
it is slow to lock in that condition, and not every photo is 100% focused.
but about 80% pic come out is well focused
I could barely lock focus and get good focus in this kind condition with my k-5 before.

actually apart from sensor, top range aps-c dslr has some better feature set than a entry level full frame dslr.
such as better burst rate, better auto focus feature, maybe some other feature.
so for example my 7d is pretty good for sports. but 5d mark II and 6d is not as good as 7d for that.
same with nikon part.

so yeah. in return lose some sensor quality is fine for me.
