Hi guys,
I bought that lens from an eBay seller, it looks good but I get "F--" blinching error on viewfinder. I can see and zoom even in live mode, but autofocus does not work and I can't shoot in any mode :(
Shouldn't it work for K1?

Hi
That's what happened to me shooting from night to day with Sun rising from the sea. The problem was exposure... when Sun is coming there are few minutes then seconds for changing camera setting... Everything becomes manual, the exposure time needs to be changed so that, at least in my case, an intervalometer can do the job during the night only. I have to try with ND or GND filters but is not easy with under/over expsure landscape or Sun. Touching camera is an inevitable risk.
Which intervalometer do you use?

Yes I do agree and I'd like a GND.

Do you mean like that?
Yesterday, after recording, I made some shot and only one was without flare. Even is dark it can be used somehow. I was using 50 mm with UV filter.
Even without a direct Sun, filters should be usefull for any landscape.

One I made with FA 15-30 mm, the other with flare I made with FA 50 mm Macro f32 plus CPL and ND1000 and that same red spot appeared also recording video using that same 50 mm plus UV filter.
Why f32 is not recommended?
Is CPL good as GND filter?
PS I could see if there was flare on diplay, last time just didn't notice.

This morning recording a rising Sun with the FA 50 mm f32 max I got a kind of red spot even I coudn't see it on display. I used also a Hoya UV filter.

Good morning,
I'm trying to do a time laps of Venus and Sun arising from the sea. K-1 suggests me to change setting to get the right exposure when sky light start changing. With the Sun very close it fails and if I follow my shots are white burn. I made some underxposure shots to the Sun but landscape appear darker then. Looks like I have to do double shoot for just one frame to be made in pothoshop later ;) isn't it? Curiously, at that point the sunlight is not very strong, I could watch the Sun without sunglasses, an impressive experience. I bear contact lenses which protect my eyes from UV anyway...
My lens was the FA 15-30 mm, if for the night job is the best I have, it brings some disadvantage for the day: F22 max and no filters. I also have a set of 49 mm filters: UV, CPL (good for water) and ND1000 (never used) for FA 100 mm and FA 50 mm, both Macro. Should I try with 50 mm Macro with filters as a compromise?
PS Can that Sun damage my FA 15-30 mm lens or any other without UV filter?

Sorry guys I made a mistake. Last times I used in Manual mode instead. I don't know if astrotracer works in M mode, but even 30'' exposure time, stars were without trails. All my shots were 30''. Windows detalis said I used in M mode.
I always use remote control! Pentax should sell remote control as a very suggested option I think. Anyway Remote control might fails when is not direct to the red led. Last time I made 1 h and 30' of shooting, and I ruined it in the middle cause I realised too late remote control didn't go. I would like to tell Pentax to add a feature as at least 10 continuous shooting. ---------- Post added 10-16-20 at 04:43 AM ----------
What's the difference between remote control and wired intervalometer?

Hi
I'd like that option in B mode, it'd be very useful to make time lapse video. Instead of shooting every 1 minute or less I would like to configure my camera to make it for at least 10 times togheter so I am able to pee... I don't have noboby to tell "hold my Pentax remote control" while I need to shoot at least for 45' minimum.
Has Mark II this option? I don't use Canon but I heard they have it.

I tried many Auto, SV, AV, X.. changing lenses I've noticed there's some oxidation on the camera contacts, I will try again with a proper cleaner tomorrow.

In my camera menu there are only two modes: flash and flash+eyes, but from the K1 manual I can see four or six.
P-TTL and zoom 24 mm (the lowest), EV 0, test buttom is red and works. ---------- Post added 09-05-20 at 07:16 AM ----------
No, I don't and my 540 doesn't look died. One day I will buy one more.

Good morning,
Yesterday I've notice my flash stop working properly on my camera. I can turn it on, doing a test, everything looks fine, but when I shoot is like I don't have any. The only thing I've change from last time it worked, it's the firmware camera, now 1.51. Can someone have a try to confirm that's a bug?

Hi guys
This is my night panorama, astrotracer ON.
Pentax K-1 is amazing for star trails and time laps too, but I would like a function to leave my camera shooting automatically for a long time 1-2h .

Sorry didn't say that my 100 mm is F2.8, if it can become 200 mm with teleconverter I might use it instead of my FA F4,7-5,6 80-200mm in any situation. I can't carry big stuff such as huge telescope so I was looking for a compromise little light cheap.

My 200 mm is an old FA 4,7-5,6 and gives me purple fringing with Jupiter and Venus but not bad for Moon. I´d like to go closer to planets and stars. Actually FHD videos looks much better than shots. What about extensors on my 200 mm for example?

Hello guys,
I was looking for something that could do better job than a 200 mm lens - actually my best tele lens. I heard about mirror lenses which can reach 500-1000 mm and they should be cheap but I don't know them much. I´d need a suggestion for a converter too. Pentax does not offer much, over 300 mm and I don´t know other brands. May someone what could look for?
Thanks!
