Is a 'Fast' lens stopped down the same as a 'slow' lens at the same aperture?

Ahhhh but sometimes, just sometimes, only 1.4 will do :)

Here's my review after 4 days of using it: It's the best APS-c Dslr ever made.

As for the details, that's going to take a while... :)

"Fine Art Photography" has been debated for decades or longer. Ask ten people for a definition and you'll get thirty definitions.

To sbc, who initially suggested buying a filter wrench set (AND provided the link), and to all others who offered suggestions, I thank you. Filter wrench set has been ordered.

New headlight and turn signal assemblies installed in the 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis LS I bought last Saturday. The old lights were badly UV damaged and the previous owner had tried to “renew” them with one of those kits. Ugly. I wish the paint looked as good on close inspection as it does in this cellphone image!

Some member of the household thought it would be a great idea to get Maggie a pool. I have reservations but Maggie clearly doesn't--she splashed around in it for nearly an hour.

Ive posted pictures of the dogs elsewhere in various threads like Single in and the lens clubs but never here in the pet thread. Go figure. Anyhow, playing with some lighting setups and painting conversions in PS. Mollie loves this game because treats are involved :-)

Getting going in street photography - in UK
Posted By LittleSkink

throughout lockdown my photography has been somewhat constrained (and I have ended up buying more kit than I really need to compensate)

As a reaction to this I want to get better at street photography, but it always makes me nervous. Not from a technical perspective but from a social one, what are people going to think, do or (possibly worse) say and how will I deal with that

- in the UK what sort of experiences have others had?

Manual settings to get only the illuminated rim of the mug and the steam, used the lowest ISO and narrowed the aperture to allow for a longer exposure in the strong lighting

I had fallen behind taking some pictures during our walk yesterday. Dahlia hustled to catch up with M who gave her a treat. Then I called Dahlia back and gave her a treat, then M called her to her side of the bridge and gave her another treat for coming. By the time I called her back to my side Dahlia had caught on to the profitability of the game and was all-in enthusiastic.

I've been using lenses 50mm and longer almost exclusively for years now. I wanted to do something different yesterday at the park. I should have taken it easy with a 30mm or even a 24, but I went for broke with the unreasonably wide Samyang 14mm.

It was mayhem.

When you don't have the balance to stand on the board, dragging around the floor works too.
