Is Pentax DA* 11-18/2,8 parfocal?

There are clear usages for being parfocal in video if the shot has a zoom during the shot and you don't want the focus to change. I think the Dolly Zoom is the most common usage, but there are other types of shots too.

Dolly zoom - Wikipedia

I don't think most people who want video in the DSLR are doing these sorts of things, though.

16-45 or 18-135 wr for trip to Scotland

If your budget allows, the 16-85 is slightly superior. If not, get a used 18-135 and don’t think twice about it. Truly the corners aren’t that bad.

For a WR beater, a used KS-2 will probably be the best value. A nice, newer camera that can be had used quite inexpensively. A K-5 would be my other choice. The 16-50 or 18-135 are both available used quite cheaply, depending on if you want range or faster aperture.

Also with Pentax you get shake reduction with manual focus lenses; I don't believe Nikon offers similar in a DSLR. Mirrorless maybe?

The 18-135 is usually available used for around $200, sometimes less, so I wouldn't pay more than that for it. It's a nice lens, with a nice range. No, not the sharpest in the corners, but in the center it's quite pleasing.

I myself prefer the 16-85, but the 18-135 is a better value.

The K-S2 was available in a few colors; based on the Pentax Forums review, it was on the order of 10 different combinations, many of them two-tone.

Best Mirrorless Cameras for Travel

By my analysis, a mirrorless camera isn’t a lot lighter than a DSLR for a typical 3 lens traveling kit. It is lighter, but you save maybe half a pound total carry weight vs a DSLR, and they cost more.

My travel kit of choice would be a K-70, the 16-50, 55-300, and a Sigma 8-16. I would add a fast prime also. My choice is the FA43, or sometimes the FA31, but there are less expensive choices too.

If you want absolute minimum weight, use your phone.

M42 adapter to Pentax K Help ?

The pin on the back needs to be pushed in. Some lenses will latch that way and work fine. Some lenses need to be modified with something to keep the pin pushed in. It’s not your adapter.

I’d also look at f2 and f4. These lenses have a lot of spherical aberration that causes the soft glowy images wide open, which may be stronger than the effect of the yellowing.

I really liked every one's submissions! Thanks for playing along. Sorry I didn't understand the rules very well when participating.

I think Lidy's submission was the most dramatic, so I'm going to choose it as the winner.

It will be less than the 18-35, but if you use flash you will want a hot shoe mounted one.

It's ALBUQUERQUE, in New Mexico, not in Albuquerque, Spain. Also not in Old Mexico, which was once called New Spain. Although New Mexico was part of both Old Mexico and New Spain, but never part of Old Spain.

We've no castles here, but there is one in Old Albuquerque, back in Old Spain.

I hope I"m playing the game correctly?

Gorgeous. Always love an F-15E. Like the bigger, more brutish Eagle compared to the C's and D's.

To the previous poster's point, no, F-15's are not equipped for carrier operation. There was an F-15 N proposal, but I think they were only drawings.
